USA answer, i have no Cam data on other countries.
great question ,but some engines have 2 or 3 type heads and cams.
and some are free running until , they have VVT.
so i treat them all as Interference.
and when building them for total down. i check it. with clay test.
or the weak valve spring tests. per top builders books
and you do know, that machining heads, can put you in the danger zone. (milled )
it says so here
http://www.agcoauto.com/content/List_Of_Interference_Engines
some turbo engines run low CR that can effect this too.
so.... why not remove the cam drive.
put a piston at TDC and roll the cam by hand gently.
does it hit? (y/n) yes, Reality. Only that matters. in this world.
but some get too close and hit only hot... dang.
