One known issue is that the u-joint on the steering shaft gets corroded. This happened to my 2004 Sienna and I was able to lubricate the u-joint and it cleared the issue. See this site for how to do it too: How to Fix Toyota Sienna Stiff Steering Share Your Repair

Don't have $3k to pay for a 72K tune-up but want to know what has to be done. 2004 RX-330.

Who ask you this much for 72k ????????????
In your owner manual should be service schedule or separate booklet with it.
And 72k miles or km ??????? And were are you at?
Most expensive service is 90k miles - around $1800 but you are not there yet , neither with miles or km.

I have 100K miles on my vehicle - just driven Toronto/Florida return and no problems - would like to keep the vehicle - any suggeted maintenance you would recomend

Follow the service intervals recommended in your manual.
  • Engine oil and filter every 5,000 km
  • Inspect brake system, steering components and wheel hub every 30,000 KM
  • Transmission oil and filter, differential and transfer-case service every 80,000 KM
  • Service the cooling system every 150,000 KM or 5 years
These are just the common major service intervals to the drive train to keep the car running to the maximum life expectancy, and replace any worn parts that may affect the safe operation of the car. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to answer any other questions you may have.
