To keep the engine in best balance as possible. Each firing in the cylinder is an explosion.

Why there is a firing order?
Firing order in an engine is important because a correct firing order can cause minimum vibrations in the system. ... Hence most popular engines implement even number of cylinders with a particular firing order so that the system is fully balanced and no vibration is produced in the engine.

What is the firing order for petrol engin

depends on the number of cylinders
for a 4 cylinder 1342 or 1243
for a 6 cylinder 153624

You haven't supplied much information.

The common rail system, while technically correct when describing a typical petrol engine is usually used to describe the more modern type of diesel engine.

It isn't a good idea to put petrol down the inlet manifold of a diesel engine.
This test when applied to a petrol engine proves the ignition system is in working order and the timings and the compressions are reasonably fit for purpose. The test would be better performed by an ether spray.

It seems the fuel in your car is not finding its way to the cylinders.
Possible reasons are the fuel pump fuse, relay, wiring or the pump itself. A blocked filter or fuel line is possible.

An electrical or electronic fault could be preventing injection even if sufficient fuel is available at sufficient pressure.
Certainly a systematic process should be gone through in order to discover the cause of your problem.

How did you make the determination that all the firing orders are wrong? No matter what the source was, the firing order should be the same no matter who you got the information from. Am I correct on this.....that everybody keeps giving you the same firing order??? As a point of emphasis I would like to know if you recieved conflicting specifications regarding the firing order. You may want verify the calibration of the distributor's position. At TDC the distributor rotor should be pointing to #1 cylinder terminal on the distributor cap, or 90 degrees across from it. Please verify.
