Reboot - just disconnect the battery + cable for a few minutes and reconnect. This should restore all default settings.

98.3hombre battery went dead after a jump it wont start

double posted, why?
JUMPS OK
AFTER JUMP WORKS AND DRIVING, AND STOP AND KEY OFF
IT WILL NOT CRANK.
did i guess right?
that means ,
check all fuses first. even the alt fuse (large)
1-battery bad? #1 top failure all cars.
2-Charge system bad. (is the charge/ batt warn lamp glowing when running car, bingo.????

3-or phantom drains. (if no crank just after stall then it not this) if drains while sleeping yes.

the tests are easy, a dirt cheap voltmeter
13.3v to 15v running is good charge system.
if 12v and falling not.

if the battery is bad, the charge system can shut down, so, the best practice is to try a know
good battery out of 2nd car, do you have battery to barrow, this is TOP CHOICE< not thinner wallet.

if the good battery fails then the charge system is failing (note I said system and not a part)
or the belt missing or slipping to the alternator.

btw the 4.3L PCM runs the alternator
PCM is engine brain.
btww, same true 2.2l engine.
the regulator is in the PCM.

so is the charge/bat lamp in cluster
on key on, lamp test
the jump start it , it runs
does the charge./batt.lamp go out.
id be all over that lamp, costs nothing to look.

Battery dead...cannot get the cargo hatch open without power.

If you jump started and nothing happened then you have a poor connection or your jump leads were too small. You need welding cable size leads and heavy clamp to get the current to a dead car. Leads the size of straw won't do it. Get it connected properly and retry. Try connecting to the starter terminal, then open the trunk, then try from the battery end. A good home mech should be able to work it out.

This weekend my battery went dead b/c I left hatch open for 2 hours. I got jumped but now engine light is on. Why?

Sometimes when the battery dies the light comes on. The best thing to do is get it scanned at autozone or similar for codes

2004 mini cooper doesn't start

Most likely a bad battery or battery terminal connection.

2003 Aurora, left key on and battery went dead. Recharged battery. Won't start. Turn key to on, security light out and check engine light on. Move key to start and nothing, back to on, one minut

Very interesting site here.. regarding your problem. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/
Another thought.. even though you charged the battery, it's not at all uncommon for a car battery to be very damaged by fully discharging. Especially if not new-ish. One or more cells in it may be bad causing the overall voltage to be under normal. This alone can cause the problem you have. I would try jumping it with another car or test the battery to see if it's got at least 12.7 to 12.9 volts when sitting doing nothing. Good luck.

My son has 2009 silverado extended cab with 22000 miles, he left his amp on and the battery went dead, so I took my 2009 silverado and tried to jump it. When I turned the key on the display lit up but once...

When a battery is totally dead a jump start will take time. The dead battery needs to come back up to at least 8 volts before it will start. Leave you jumper cables hooked up for a half hour or so and try again. What you really need is a battery charger, even once you get it running the alternator is going to have to run for a really long time to fully charge this battery. Also, you should be able to connect the amp to go off with the deck, it's a little more work but it is well worth the effort.

No Power at all Chevy HHR

you don't need to open the rear hatch to jump the vehicle. open the hood and you will see a red cap that is meant for jumping the vehicle. there is a spot labeled ground as well, if there is no spot labeled ground, find a suitable bare metal spot to hook the ground up to. that should give the car enough power to get the key out and open the hatch. it may not be good enough to start the car but from that point you can get into the trunk and either jump it at the battery or replace the battery.

if jumping the vehicle doesn't work you can also try to look for blown fuses under the hood on the drivers side or in the passenger compartment in the middle console under the panel on the passenger side. the panel is held in by 4 clips and the fuse block is under the panel
