You need an auto electrician to connect a professional grade scan tool computer, and set it to record live data and take it for a test drive. It will record exactly what goes wrong when the car loses power. That will dictate the fix. This type of fault you can't just guess.

My car is back at the factory getting "worked on"...sudden loss of Power and control while driving on the freeway...has anyone else experienced this? ... My son was driving his '04 Volvo on the highway, when all of the sudden the car started slowing down, despite how much he ... Last I heard they were 60.
My guess would be the transaxle. Pump, clutches, valve body, solenoids, torque converter, and so on. A mechanic might give you some suggestions after a test drive.
fuel pump may be going out stand by the end of the car and try to ear the pump making sounds if it dosen't make any sounds then it bad hope this info helps
I dont have a solution, but when you lose power while driving, it's most likely the alternator because while driving, your car uses the alternator to power itself. when the car is off, you use the battery. Judging by the fact that you lose power while driving, again - start with the battery. just keep in mind that there are other factors that it could be, such as faulty wiring, bad fuse, or a few other things.
