Remove the door trim panel and replace the switch. You might be able to push up the switch from the door armrest from the hole below and in front of the armrest. Google the assembly pic. Or buy a Bentley EBahn CD and get access to EBahn Web.

On the Audi Q7, depending on country and options the child lock is either:
1. On the drivers armrest, near the window switches, there are 2 buttons with a little orange light and a picture of a little baby on them. Deselect both buttons to turn off the child locks. -OR- 2. Open the passenger doors, there is a small keyhole on the inside of the door above the latch, use your key and turn it 90 degrees to turn off the child lock.
Is this an all the time issue or only in certain locations? If only in certain locations you may be getting interference blocking/restricting/reducing the range of your remote. (power lines, electrical equipment etc). You may still have a battery issue in the remote(s) depending on how often the remote was used and its probably the least expensive way to check the system. Second you can have a disconnected/bad antenna. Most newer vehicles have the antenna built into the car I believe the Audi is located inside the C-Pillar of the SUV (not easy to access). It could have become damaged or disconnected. Third and finally possibly the alarm unit itself (very rare) could be a cause. Start with the batteries.
An 09 plate Q7 should still be in warrenty as Audi offer a three year warrenty with a limit of 60,000 miles. If your vehicle is out of warrenty Audi are also known very well for good will providing the vehicle has been serviced at an Audi dealership. Try replacing the battery in the key as this may have an effect
