2001 Chrysler Town and Country Window problem.

2001 Chrysler Town and Country. Passenger window stopped working. After about a year, the drivers side window sometimes will work and sometimes I put it down and I have to count to 5 then wind it up and it will go up about 2 inches, wait another 5 seconds and it will go up another 2 inches. Anybody know what the problem might be? Thanks!

My 2001 chrysler town and country drivers side window will not roll down.I can hear the motor when i press the button, but it does not roll down

Very common, the cable assy most likely broke in the window regulator, comes as a unit, motor and regulator assy in one..

Passenger side window stopped working, is this a fuse problem? Driver's side is still functional.

It's not a fuse issue. Can you roll the window to the passenger side down with the drivers side panel? If you can then the control panel on the passenger side needs replaced. If you can't then the regulator/motor/tract for the window on the passenger side would need to be addressed.

2005 Chrysler Town & Country. Passenger side window problem.

HAVEK 1005 sounds right on track.... but also try this, usually works well for non functional power windows, specially Caravans.

NO COST PROCEDURE TO FIX IT:

1. Sit in vehicle, on seat next to problematic window
2. Ignition key is on
3. Door in question is opened (in case you closed it)
4. While door is open, press and hold power window button in desired window travel, keep button pressed !!
5. SLAM hard the door closed with one hand while other hand holds button as per #4.
6. Watch window operate as it should.
7. Repeat 3-6 if necessary, but usually the first try works!

NOW, for the naysayers that says you must replace power window motors etc, at $$$ cost because the above fix does not work, or is not long lasting fix, or less than a "professional fix".... Well then, when the window fails to operate again, apply same fix again at that time.

I have fixed my van this way numerous times (usually once a year), and to all local friends I recommend this fix too, likewise do the same and are happy with the solution.

Passenger power window will not open.

We have had this happen in every town and country and caravan that we have owned. They will tell you that the window motor needs replaced. It will work for a while and then break again. Did I mention that the price tag to fix it is pretty hefty? A friend of mine told me that he fixed his with a salvaged window motor for a fraction of the price. The motor is obviously defective though if it breaks so easily.

Describe your 2001 Chrysler Town &

Shouldn't set off air bag if you are taking off door panel. You could always disconnect negative battery cable to be extra careful. I have replaced both passenger and drivers windows with battery connected. Take your time in removing door panel so avoid breaking plastic retaining clips.

One nasty part of this job is removing bolts that hold window motor to the door. They have a rubberized nut on the backside. Sometimes you can hold them with vise grips. I've found if I just pull the motor really hard the bolt and nut slides out of rubber guide.

It is also a little tricky to remove the unit and reinstall it in the door. Just be patient and take your time.

One tip is to leave the door panel off after you install the new door motor/regulator unit. Simply plug in the window switch and make sure all is functioning correctly and then install door panel.

I buy the replacement window units online and save big bucks over the dealer.

other windows work, sliding doors work as does rear hatchback.
fuses seem to be good.
might there be a safety switch that somehow got pushed that keeps the passenger window from opening?
