This must be a case of worn or nearly worn brake pads, happens to me all the time. As you buy new disc pads, make sure you use a 'break in' conditioning to the new pads, meaning, from speed of 30-0 slam the brakes, then cool off, then 45-0, slowly do the same if it is safe to do so, and on a clear road, if possible do a 60-0 do the same thing. Before doing these, I have to say make sure, either have your rotors checked by a mechanic if it needs to be cut to specification meaning there are no ridges/circular deep lines on the rotor surface. You need to remove the internal door panel, then you can see the screw to remove the side mirror. Sometime you need to remove the glass before you can reach the screw.

You remove the rear seat and carpet to show the access panel then remove the fuel pump and filter. Usually all you have to pull is the rear seat not the back part of the seat. The only fuel filter for the vehicle is in tank unfortunately.
