Your handbook should show where the fuses are located, normally under the bonnet or by the drivers knee area. there is a fuse for the fuel gauge.

SOURCE: I just bought a 98'

The computer does a sweep test everytime it senses power. Check it next time you turn the key to run the gages do a little self test. However the fuse and gage won't be your problem. They are very bad for the fuel level sensor in the tank getting corrupted or dirty and doesn't read properly. You can try to add port fuel injector cleaner to the tank, but problem will usually reoccur. You will need the fuel tank dropped and the level sensor replaced.

SOURCE: The fuel gauge on my

Hello
If it was a fuse problem none of the gauges would work or the warning lights. The problem is caused by a defective fuel gauge sending unit that is located of course inside the fuel tank. To rpelace this part requires the fuel tank be dropped out of the car.

SOURCE: fuel gauge doesn't work. checked

The issue may be the the in tank fuel gauge float. Over time these can corrode and/or get gummed up which would cause it to get stuck. Another issue maybe the wires running from the in-tank pump to the gauge cluster, if one of the wires has become loose or broken, this would cause the issue as well.

1993 mitsubishi montero rs fuel gauge doesnt work

in alot of cases it is a ground issue in the wiring system. would try moving them around some by the tank and see if this helps to find the one and yes in alot of cases you have to drop tank but not all the way. just enough to check wires. fuse that runs gas gauge runs all gauges....hope this helps some and good luck.

1993 trooper...replaced speed senor, checked all connections, has power, no speedometer cable, electronic. What is the problem?

If the problem is the speedometer does not work, and if the gauges are ok, you may need a speedometer.

Fuel gauge

Check the connections to the fuel sender are in good order, not loose, wet or corroded.
Check the fuel sender is properly grounded.
If no fault found as above, a new sender may be required.
