Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve and throttle valve, they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

I'm having the same problem, so far what i can come up with is the IAC system ( intake air control) either the IAC valve or the stepper motor that the IAC valve sits on. I have already replaced valve and it is comming up code 35 IAC system. I'm thinking now i have to replace the stepper motor.

they might have not put the proper gap on the plugs..and might have over filled the engine with too much oil..
SOURCE: Just turns off on it's own, Wait 60 sec. restart press pedel it dies.
This engine is electronically controlled so the first thing that must be done here is to have the systems control computer tested for fault codes and then do the proper diagnostics based on those codes.
Possibly a crankshaft position sensor had the same problem with one of my former vehicles. Be careful buying a new one though it is an electronic part and it is not returnable at most part stores. That is what it sounds like to me though.
