It sounds as if the constant power to the BCM has somehow gotten moved to switched power.

This is really beyond me without having a wiring diagram and the vehicle in front of me. My best suggestion is your local dealership.

In the 04 models there has been a recall on a part in the brake lights. You can look it up and it gives you a number to call GMC. If you truck is one of the affected models they will replace it for you.

i pretty sure you go through the back right above the bumper and below the tail gate there should be a hole, and your truck should come with the tools u need ( probably with your jack) anyways you put the rod in there and unwind it.
