Cadillac V8, 4.9 litre. What are the valve train torque specs on the 4.9L Cadillac V8?

Cadillac is the make.
V8 is the engine configuration.
1.9 litre is the cubic capacity.

Nnone of that is 'year make model' as needed. With torque specs, the engine has an alpha numerical number and that is useful as well. Like this; Torque Specifications for. GM 4.9L-301ci-V8

Or we can guess, hope for the best and see what happens :>D

No power and battery is full

If the engine won't crank, check the condition and tightness of the battery leads, particularly the black earth where it connects to the engine block/bodywork. Loosen and tighten each connection in turn.

An engine that won't crank is a classic symptom of a 'bad earth' .

If the engine cranks slowly this is also a symptom of a bad earth/cable - or a defective battery.

Can you get a friend or neighbour to boost-start your car? If, after cleaning and checking the battery lead connections the car is still sluggish in cranking and won't start - suspect a faulty battery.

Will your car start with a boost-start? Most workshops will do a free battery check for you.

Location to put the jumper cables

You will need to put the positive lead from the jumper battery onto the positive lead of the car battery . Then place the earth lead from the jumper battery to and part of the motor This prevents a power surge that will damage the CPU. If you find it more convenient to connect to the power lead from the battery say at the starter relay or onto the starter positive itself and the negative (earth ) to the engine that would work also

I put in a new battery, but the starter motor won't turn over. When try to start it everything dims. Do I need a new starter motor?

try this ? connect a jump lead to the earth/negative terminal on the battery then connect the other end of lead direct to a sutable eart point on the engine try engine mount ? then having done this try starting ? if starter work then your problem is either the batteries earth lead is fault /loose on engine or batt terminal ? make checks on all battery leads connections to starter and earth on engine ?this is reason lights go dim due to poor earth assume battery is full charged ?
