Left side guide on my 2001 Seville plastic with ribit broke can it be fixed back with screws

Pop out the ashtray. Remove the ashtray assembly (the housing). if you flip the ashtray over and look at the bottom you can see a small spot where a piece of plastic has broken off (this should be obvious). In the ashtray housing there is the latch mechanism with the broken "nipple" probably stuck inside of the mechanism. Get the plastic piece out and discard it. Reinstall the housing only.

Now, get a TINY ( I mean really small, like 4mm long and maybe 1/4-1/2mm diameter) screw handy. Drill a slightly smaller hole right through the ashtray where the piece of plastic was before it broke off. screw in the screw from the TOP of the ashtray so it only pokes out of the bottom 1.5 MMor so. Put the ashtray in. If it still doesn't "catch" screw the screw in a little further so it sticks out the bottom a little more. If it binds you've ******* the screw in too far so back it off. You get the drift.

This takes about 30 minutes. It's hard to explain but once you look at the bottom of the ashtray you'll understand the concept. Hope this helps somebody out there.

slide both seats all the way forward remove screws in sides of console if no screws on sides slide seats back and pull center from inside remove two bolts remove side skirt on each side screws under them remove ashtray center pocket screws under it also unplug wire connectors and remove

Flasher units are always in one of 2 places, under glove box on pass side or in loom under steering wheel close to fuse panel.

On Sonoma it is under the lower dash panel, just to the left of the cigarette lighter. To get to it you must remove the ashtray. Then remove screws holding the plastic panel that is below the dashboard. You will see two round "can " shaped flasher units. The one on the right is for the signal lights. The one on the left is for the emergency flashers.

1 hex nut under ashtray and 2 torx to left of that. No need to completely remove the lower dash panel you took the screws out of. Just bend it down a little to get your hand in. You will see the 2 flasher pods.

The trim panel around the radio / HVAC controls needs to be removed to get to the screws.

To remove the trim panel, open the ash tray and pull on each lower corner. There are 3 spring clips on each side holding the trim in place. The 1st time you do this, they are a bit hard to pull out.

The black circles in this picture are where the spring clips are


If you can just hang the panel to the side or have someone hold it, you can get to the 2 screws on the top of the ashtray assembly ( there are just above the black sides of the ash tray in the picture above ). The ash tray is pulled out and down, it is farther in the dash than it looks. Once out, you can take a look at the springs on the side / back that hold it in, to see if they broke off or fell off.

Yes, it is! The Data Link Connector (DLC) - car diagnostic plug is placed on back side between driver and passenger seats, on bottom back side of armrest under a plastic cover of ashtray. Under cover near back ashtray is a small plastic cover hidding DLC.

This is probably way more information than you need, but here goes. I just had the same problem with my dads 2001 YUKON and wanted to put the stock wire back. It was not easy, but it can be done.

Remove the glove box, and plastic side panel on the dash
As you are looking through the removed area, there is a silver computer there, remove the bracket and move this computer.
Behind the computer there will be the plug in for the antenna. One side goes to the radio, the other to the fender.
Unplug the cable, and tape/fasten a length of wire to it so that when you pull it out, you have a guide to get the new wire back through the firewall.
Remove the old ant. and then take the guide wire and fasten to the new cable. Pull this guide wire through while someone else is feeding from the fender area.
Replug it, and reinstall the computer and glove box door.

Also, be aware and make sure that the new cable with stud matches the ant. mast. GM changed the size of the stud (for unknown reasons)and you may need to get a new matching mast. I could not use my old one

You must open the center console lid and remove the 2 Phillips head screws above the fuse station to expose the ashtray Phillips head screws.Remove the ashtray screws and carefully pull he ashtray back towards the center console. After the ashtray is removed take your hand an feel under the wood grain unit for the 2 plastic wing nuts holding the wood grain in place. Remove them and gently lift the wood grain up and out of the way. Remove the 4 Phillips head screws holding the AC controls and Radio bracket. Place the gear shifter in drive to pull the whole unit out. Sounds like a lot but takes about 10-15 mins to complete.

the flasher relay is under the dash behind the ashtray

gently pop off surrounding plastic trim .It's held in by clips then remove screws that hold radio in place.

First you need to remove th wooden bezel surrounding the shifter. Do this by gently prying up the bottom part of the wood closest to the cup holders in the armrest using a small screwdriver. Then work out te top part gently. Rotate/angle the wood bezel to get it over the shifter. It will slide past, just work it around the button. Once this is removed then you need to remove the ashtray below the climate control. Now that the shifter bezel has been removed locate the 2 screws securing the bottom of the ashtray housing and remove them. The ashtray then will only be held in be retaining clips at the top. Once the screws are removed you'll want to have the ashtray open to get better leverage on it to pull. Gently slide the ashtray out. Be careful not to pull to hard on the actual tray of the ashtray. there is a plastic tab in the back of the ashtray that can't be seen that prevents it from coming out all the way that can easily be broken. If you do break it the ashtray is still secured to the swing mechanism by 2 screws in the bottom of the tray that will still allow it to be functional and secure, so don't worry. After the ashtray is removed the next step is to remove the small trim piece directly underneath the climate controls. On 2000 and 2001 models this will be made of wood. 97-99 models it will be black plastic. Using a small flathead screwdriver gently pry the strip of wood or plastic out. Starting in the middle of the strip is best, the retaining clips are on the right and left of the strip. It should pop out fairly easily.This will expose the screws holding in the bottom of the climate control which will need to be removed. Once the climate controls are removed the bottom radio screws should be visible. Next for the screws retaining the top of the radio you'll need to remove the clock/airvents located above the radio. Remove this with a small flathead screwdriver using the pop out method. Once removed this will expose the screws retaining the top fo the radio. Remove these screws and the screws at the bottom and the radio should slide out. Again, this will work on all models from 97-2001.
