SOURCE: I am attempting to change the alternator, Battery

Alternator is aluminum, bolt is steel...oxidation from electrolysis happens there easily. Lots of wd40, some light hammering on bolt head and sometimes heat helps (unless you aren't careful and start a fire or melt something you need). Once the bolt moves a little, keep working it in both directions and moving it out further a small amount each time.
Once you have it out, clean it up well and use anti-seize compound on it when putting it back together.

SOURCE: does a kia rio diesel 56 plate need the timing belt changing or has it got a chain

The engine which is made by Mercedes is not belt driven, it has a timing chain, timing chains never need to be replaced unless they fail or the engine is being rebuilt.

SOURCE: Kia Rio from'03 timing belt repair

I have an 03 Kia Rio, the belt broke at 137,000 mi. It cost me $1,700.00 to repair. They told me it's best to change at 80 - 85,000 mi. I've learned my lesson the hard way.

SOURCE: How to chang timing belt 2005 Kia Rio

2005 ?? and only 70k ,i dont think it needs changing yet till about 120k depending on your local ambient climate ,if in a hot dry area then 7 yrs old yes change but if in a more temperate climate then it will be good for at least till its 10 yrs old ,modern belts are far superior to older ones from the 90s ,Then entrust it to a mechanic because one slip up can ruin the engine ,i would not recomend this job to a weekend mechanic who needs to ask on here how to do it ,yes i can tell you and its not difficult but the consequences of making a mistake ??

My KIA Rio 2003 alternator driving belt broke and got lost at night. I have no identification details for it. I want to buy an new replacement locally may I have the part number? Does 4PK865 WORK FOR ME?

Go to AutoZone or Napa Auto Parts with the Make Model Year of your car and the ENGINE size. They will ask you with our without AC? With or without Power Steering? Standard or Automatic transmission? Then they will tell you exactly what belt Alternator you need. Everything is computerized and they will even show you the on screen picture if you ask.

This is what I can gather about your belt:

Power steering and air-conditioning;
35.5 in. effective L, 0.54 in. top W, 4 ribs;

Water pump and alternator there is 1 size and appears to be a "Micro V-belt vs a serpentine belt. i.e 2003 Kia Rio, sub models: RX-V, Base and Cinco

How do you replace the alternator belt on a 2003 Kia Rio? The belt just broke and the only idiot light that's lit is the battery light, so it probaly isn't the serpentine belt.

undo the alternator bolts and swing it inwards towards the block,replace the belt and lever the alt away from the block to tension it (1/2"play on longest stretch between pulleys) use ring spanners.(wrenches)

03 kia rio-24000 km.will valves hit piston if belt breaks?

yep valves will hit piston if timing belt brake.timing belt keep your valves and piston timed.when intake valves and exhaust valve open.piston is on down stroke.the timing belt keep pistons and valves from colliding.your timing belt change is due at 60000 miles.but in some cases belt need to be inspect at 30000 miles.to be on the safe side.
