2001 Volvo S40 petrol. With my Volvo S40 car, there is a problem with the Cooling System. Cooling tank gets empty after running.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to model category.

You have a leak, you just need to find it.

Look for leaks in the hoses. Do a pressure test.

The most common reasons a Volvo S40 has a coolant leak are loose hose connections, a broken radiator, or a failed water pump.

Why water on floor 2005 volvo s40 2.4i

It could either be the heater core leaking or the A/C condenser leaking due to the drain for the "sweating" being plugged up. Sometimes bees build nests in the drain tube. Check the antifreeze make sure it's not low.

My Volvo S40 is not generating the heat

Check your fluid level, if that is good then check the control valve on the hose that goes back to the firewall to make sure that is working, if both of those are good you'll have to check the thermostat and water pump on the vehicle to make sure they are working properly.

Volvo s40 t5 2005, water leak behind the passenger seat

Most likely the sunroof drains are clogged. It happened to mine, the floormats and floors were soaked, especially behind the drivers side. Volvo wanted to charge me $550 to clear them out and dry out the floors. Instead I took it home, rolled down the windows, parked it in the sun and let it dry out. Then I found a mechanic who blew out the drains with compressed air for only $20. He had originally quoted me $50-100, but ended up doing it for less. He said the two back drains are clogged. You can try sticking a small flexible wire down the front two yourself, then pour water down to see if it drains properly out the bottom of the car. When I looked I didn't see the two back sunroof drains, but my mechanic said they were clogged with leaves, you might be able to clear these yourself too. I would have never guessed that it was the sunroof causing this, because you don't see the water leak around the sunroof, you only see the water backing up on the floor. Don't take it to the dealership, it's a simple job and they will rip you off.

I have water on the rear floors of my 05 volvo s40. I car does have a sunroof. the water seems to be puddling around the rear floor vents.

There are 3 possible sources. The windshield (although this would puddle under the front carpet as well), the sunroof and the condensation from the climate control (evaporator). The first thing I would check is the external drain for the climate control. This is best accessed under the car.
