I have a 1997 cadillac cartera' which the leftside back door power window' gos down new ever will not come up'. how i can i repear is problem'?

Fuel pedal ? gas pedal etc.... ? What problem are you having ? Idle ?

replace pasenger door switch first i have seen both master and reguler switches go bad at teh same time beecause teh door swithc never gos noticed by the driver untill the master switch gos bad

There is one 30amp circuit breaker for all windows.
The power for all windows is transferred thru the master switch in the driver's door, so I would start there. Most models have a switch to lock out the other windows too.

probably needs new switches (in driver's door panel). if window is ever left down while raining, switches will quickly corrode.

after 14 years the bulb socket gos bad from heating up when lite comes on get a new socket and it will work

If it's like my 1990 cadillac deville, get pliers and pull up on the window while pushing the switch up for the window. There could be a bad motor. How much? I don't know. It will vary from shop to shop.

I, myself own a 1993 Cadillac Sedan Deville. It has over 150K miles on the odometer and has over time had a myriad of parts replaced, mostly by me. One day, for reasons unknown, the window in the driver's side door decided not to work. Like you, all other windows remained fully operable in both directions. While the switches can fail they are, as a rule, quite reliable for long periods of time. When trying, for some time, to get the window to operate, without success, I thought, let me think about this. Upon reflection, I decided that although switch failure is possible the odds of both sets of contacts, raise and lower, failing simultaneously are small.
The next possibility is that the window regulator which is what the manufacturer calls the mechanism, has developed a motor problem. These are DC motors and I don't know whether they have a wound field ar a permanent magnet field. Assuming a wound field it is possible that the last time the window moved under power the motor stopped with a brush either stuck or in contact with a "dead spot" on the commutator. Assuming the latter and with the window fully up I opened the door, pressed the switch to lower the window and while holding the switch in the down position I simultaneously slammed the door. Voila!!! The window went down and became fully operable once more. It has been operating as designed ever since; about 8 months now. Give it a try. Window regulator assemblies are dear and the motor is NOT available as a separate part. Good Luck!!

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then pull back the weather seal...

there are 3 fuse boxs under hood the center, leftside and rightside, the fuse you are looking for is in leftside fuse box and labeled windows.good luck.
