If u mean lock cylinder where key goes u should be able to open it from the inside. After u get open from inside take door panel off and remove outer handle assembly. Most likely the ring clip holding the mechanism in came off. If trying to get in and can't call a locksmith and tell them to bring appropriate tools. You will have to prove car is yours

SOURCE: driver side door lock

Pull the door panel & replace the electronic lock solenoid.
Not easy, but this is what you need to do.

SOURCE: my wife is stuck at the airport. the key fob on

On the driver's side door handle, there is a cap covering the key hole on the right side. On the bottom of the cap is a small ****. Use the valet key to pry it up and off. Then you may open the door, most likely sounding the alarm, so you will need to insert the remote in the ignition to stop the NOISE!!!! Hope this helps. This is how I lock my remote away when I go somewhere to run.

might be that the battery wasnt placed in correctly but if so the key fob may need to be paired back up to the car's electronic system by the dealership

2006 passat drivers side door locks wont open from outside when unlocked using fob

It sounds like you might have two door latches that are faulty.... But you can try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes and reconnect to see if that solves it. Sometimes VW's need their memory reset, have seen weird problems happen and this fixes it a lot of the time.

We can't open the drivers side door from the outside using our remote control. It is supposed to open when we click either once on the door open button or twice if we want all the doors to open. The car is...

the computer is confused as to whether its left or right hand drive, hence BOTH front doors out of sync, just continue to press twice it should reset itself (could take a week or two)OR check out my reset guide (clickon my name).

2006 1.9 passat tdi estate drivers side door handle fault

Under waranty? Back to the dealer. Out of waranty? Either a dealer, or a private shop that has a good reputiation. Ask your friends amd co-workers and family.

Child locks only disable the INSIDE handle leaving the OUTSIDE handle operating. Sounds like the linkage for the outer handle has come apart.
