I have a 07 dodge ram 1500 4.7L 2wd with a 545rfe transmission thats stuck on limp mode. It all started with a damaged engine wire harness.. I replaced the harness and also started changing sensor in the transmission as pressure sensor and input/output shaft speed sensors, also replaced the solenoid pack, both of the filters and new oil... Ive been reading all kinds of. Codes. At first it was just 2, probably 3 at most and now its like 8 of them at once all related to the trans. The truck seems like trying to get out of limp mode sometimes but it fails and stays in 3rd gear. The codes are: P0736 P0870 P0871 P0987 P0845 P0841

This exact problem happened to the transmission in my Jeep Commander and it was a 545rfe too. Hope you ending up finding an easy fix. I ended up having to buy a replacement. These guys used to have good deals running on their used 545rfe transmissions though https://reman-transmission.com/transmission-codes/?code=545RFE

SOURCE: 2002 chrysler town and country wont leave limp mode

try getting a new shift solenoid for it. i had the same problem on my 2002 chrysler town and country and my plymouth breeze which is also a dodge product. it is very simple to do and doesnt take all that long. the part will probably run you about 150 to 200 dollars but it should fix your problem.

SOURCE: 2005 Dodge Ram Automatic transmission problem

i had this problem with a friends 05 dodge 3500. i dropped the pan off the transmission, changed the governor pressure soleniod, trans filter and adjusted front and rear bands. also increased transmission pressure. this solved the problem he was having. you will need to have pressure gauges and a few special wrenches to do this yourself. also there is a valve in the transmission lines that has to be drilled out. this work not recommened unless you know what you are doing.

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7 & its in limp mode, will not start pulls code p0562 & PO700/ low voltage and transmission control module anybody tell me what's wrong

The P0700 code indicates there's a mechanical problem with your transmission that needs to be repaired, and the computer has stored relevant trouble codes in the transmission control module. You'll need a scanner that can read transmission trouble codes, to see exactly which codes are stored.

The P0562 indicates the ECM detects a battery voltage less than a specific value. I notice you charged the battery, but it could be something else going wrong in the charging system and causing the code. Here's how to troubleshoot the P0562:

1. Visually inspect the positive and negative connections at the batteries and inspect the battery negative connections at the engine block. Are the connections free of corrosion and are they tight? If not, repair the poor connection.

2. Check the add-on or accessory wiring at the positive (+) terminal of the battery. Are there any damaged wires at the battery? If so, repair the accessory wiring.

3. Perform a battery load test using a battery system tester that can place a load on the battery. Did the battery(s) pass the test? If not, repair the weak battery(s).

4. Test the ECM connection:
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the ECM harness connectors.
Disconnect the battery terminals.
Measure the resistance from the positive and negative battery posts to the appropriate circuits in the ECM harness connector. Is the resistance less than 10 Ohms? If not, repair the high resistance in the wiring harness.

5. Reconnect the battery terminals.
-Measure and record the voltage between battery positive pins of the ECM connector and the battery negative circuits of the ECM harness connector, then reconnect the ECM harness connectors.
-Next, measure and record battery voltage.
Are the readings within 3 volts of each other?

If they are, you have intermittent power issues that will need further diagnosis. If they aren't within 3 volts of each other, your ECM may need replacing.

2002 dodge transmission stuck in limp mode

Well you either have a shorted component or a shorted wiring harness. Buy a factory wiring diagram booklet and follow the circuit, start disconnecting components in the system until the short goes away. If everything that the fuse powers is disconnected and the fuse still blows then you have a shorted wiring harness, look for areas where there is allot of movement or heat from the engine exhaust. You can try this site for a wiring diagram, it may have one. http://bbbind.com/free_tsb.html

I have a 2004 dodge ram 2500 stuck in limp mode. Can't get it out of limp mode any way to dypass?

Not really. You have to have the codes read. Could be as easy as replacing a solenoid. You have to remove the transmission pan to do it. Or it could be a transmission rebuild.

Transmission wiring harness

It would probably never work. Your whole drivetrain is set up to work with the factory installed engine and transmission. A plain jane transmission will drive your computers crazy, and you might never get out of limp home mode.

Its not likely the transmission is causing the problem if both the speedo and tach are out. The tach does not involve the transmission.
Sounds more like a problem with the instrument cluster or the body computer.
You may have to get a used shop manual to get the wiring diagrams and testing procedures.

04 ram will not shift past 35 mph

it may not be a transmission problem. have you checked for fault codes to make sure it is not in limp mode? limp mode keeps vehicle from accelerating properly because the ECM has put the system at a limited setting to keep the engine running but not to its full potential.

My trans is stuck in second gear. Is that what

The town and country vans are know for transmission problems and it would not be stuck in 2nd gear if it was in limp mode. Limp mode typically controls the engine. I have seen people do a transmission flush/filter and add lucas to temporary fix the problem. There is also a good chance that the transmission has a solenoid problem preventing it from shifting into any other gears but second. Hope this helps!

I have a 6 cilinders 3.6l dodge engine ,need to know if transmission work for a 4.6 v8 engine

there is no 3.6 or 4.7 litre for a 2004 dodge or any other dodge. Secondly the transmission for a 3.7 litre uses a 42rle and the 4.7 litre uses a 545rfe which has more torque you would have to change the engine also and reprogram
