I think the pressure regulator may be the cause here.

SOURCE: fuel pressure problem.I replaced the fuel pump on 2001 chevy s-10

Most fuel injected vehicles have a relay that controls the fuel pump so after the ignition switch has been on for about 5 seconds and the engine is not running, the fuel pump automatically shuts off.
I don't know what your original problem was, but I think if the car runs normally, you have probably fixed your problem. If you don't have a manual, you can probably go to the library and take a look at a manual that covers your vehicle.

When you hook the pressure test guage to shrader valve on fuel rail what it reads is what the pressure is from pump, around 60 p.s.i. all you need to do is hook up the guage and turn on key, you do not have to turn engine over, and if pump is good it will shoot up to 58 or 60 right now.

the fuel pressure if leaking could cause this the regulator is located under the intake plenum but you should smell gas .if you dont then most likely the pump is bad ,the pump will come on for 2 seconds when the key is on then go off it will not stay on with just the key on only when you crank it will it .so have your fuel pressure checked with a gauge.

Do you have the fuel tester hooked the in the overgrown air valve on the fuel rail in the back of the engine? Or do you have the fuel line unhooked in the back and hooked to the pressure pump? You want the fuel pressure to be in that 60 lb range so if you are hooked into the pressure valve on the fuel rail allowing fuel to go through, then I am betting it is the fuel pressure regulator. To get to that, you have to take the throttle body off and take the plastic plenum that covers the injector packs. On the back of the mount where your six pack of injectors are sits the pressure regulator. If it is faulty then it is dumping fuel instead of holding the pressure like it should.
Get a Chilton or Clymer manual and it shows you in pretty good detail how to fix it. I've done it to my 98 S10 with the same engine.

If you unhooked the fuel line so you are losing pressure from the line back to the pump then I would say your pump is letting fuel back to the tank when it shuts off. My money is on the first possibility though.

Good luck

06 Dodge Magnum SXT cranks but won't start

There are many reasons why your Dodge Magnum makes clicking noise and won't start. When looking for the reason, you should start with the most obvious causes that are easy to diagnose: weak battery, and poor electrical connection.
In any case, it is advisable for laypersons to visit a workshop. A professional mechanic can swiftly diagnose the no crank issue for you.

Location of the EVAP canister on a 05 Dodge Magnum sxt awd

Read

no engine and can change where all evap part are;...... RTM"?

it can only be 3 places, bay, mid car or at tank.

my jeep is mid car, if not seen in the bay then we look at the tank./

bingo.

got scan tool errors. most eVAP are loose or bad gas cap;

and takes over 30 driving cycles to reset, fooling, everyone lacking scan tool and pushbutton reset on tool (all have it)

the parts dealer, mopar.com shows hose 8 to tank vent

the tank vent always goes to the CAN, only how far that is varies.

I have 2005 I changed the starter and battery good but it still won't start

First does it crank, if it does then check to see if the fuel injectors are getting fuel.....could be a fuel pump...

second....if there is nothing when you turn the key and the battery is good and the starter was replaced...it could be a bad ground.....thats the ground coming off your battery and goes to your chassis of the car.........let me know how you make out.

05 Dodge Magnum went from 60 - 0mph in 0.0 seconds flat!!!

Sounds like you need a new key to me. When they start and die like that, the security system is not seeing a good key. This has to be done at a Dodge or Chrysler dealership. They can cut a new key and fob combo their as well as program them with their scan tool. It will cost about $200.00 to do this. The two cranks to start is a weak fuel pressure regulator. Probably located on the the fuel pump. May be serviced seperate now from the fuel pump assembly. Ask the dealer they will know.

05 Durango wont crank,

I helped a neighbor, she had a dodge van. She thought the fuel pump was bad, it had set up for months. I noticed the fuel pump and A/C relay were the same. I swapped them out and the van cranked. Just a thought could it be the fuel pump relay.

05 dodge magnum randomly won,t start it will take a few trys

When this happens check the fuel pressure, sounds like the electric fuel pump may be sticking, it fits the symptom you have, intermittent no start.
