SOURCE: where are the plugs on lincoln navigator 1998

They are under the coil packs. You will need an 8mm socket to remove the bolt on each coil pack then remove them to access spark plugs.

You are correct. The plugs are accessed below these coils. Disconnect the coil connectors and remove the 4 10mm bolts which hold the coils in place -- then you'll have access to the plugs. Here's a pic

4ff53b2.jpg By the way, how many miles on this 2007 Sonata? You know the powertrain is under warranty (1st owner 100,000 miles). If you're having problems, have Hyundai dealership diagnose it and fix it under warranty.

Remove the spark plug wires, remove the spark plugs, replace them. Do this one cylinder at a time if you never did it. On that year you may need to remove the upper intake to access the plugs on one side. In that case go to a shop. This would not be a novice job.

Remove the plugs, make sure the new plugs are gapped to .040, put anti-seize on the threads of the new plugs, then install them and tighten accordingly.

They are directly below the coil packs (10mm bolts).

Where are the spark plugs located in my car

Navigator has a coil located on top of each of the plugs. You'll need to remove the coils & use an extension with a spark plug socket to remove them. Some models have covers over the top of the heads to "Look Good" & those have to be removed to gain access to the coils/plugs. Use anti-sieze lubricant on the threads of your plugs & dielectric grease to ensure a good sealed connection between the top of the plug & the coil. Good Luck.
