When you open any door ? Driver ,passanger etc... You would need to look at a wiring diagram to see what all is involved in making the light's come on . Has an electronic illuminated entry module that controls the light's . Use's RH & LH door handle switches as inputs to the module . Has two fuse's in the instrument panel fuse box #4 a 15amp fuse & # 24 a 5 amp fuse . Probably not a fuse problem . module maybe . Free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free-tsb Enter vehicle info. Year , make , model an engine size. Under system click on lighting , then under subsystem click on illuminated entry . Click the search button ,then the blue link .
The system is activated by raising the door handle (22404).
This action momentarily closes a switch mounted on the front door latch, which completes the ground circuit of the electronic module and switches the system on. The vehicle interior lamps turn on, remain on for approximately 25 seconds, then automatically turn off. During this 25 second period, the system can be manually deactivated by turning the ignition switch (11572) to either RUN or ACC position.
The system will be activated every time the door handles are operated. Opening the interior lamp switch from the inside of the vehicle will not activate the system.
If the door handle is held up indefinitely so that the interior lamp switch is continuously closed, the system will operate as normal and turn off after 25 seconds. At the completion of this cycle, if the door handle is still in the raised position, the system will remain off, and it will be impossible to activate the system from the other door handle until the raised door handle is returned to its normal position. This function is built into the logic circuitry of the system to prevent battery discharge, should the door handle be intentionally propped up or become jammed in any way.

the best way is to call Ford with your vin# and have them fax it to you or go in they can pull it up the in their computer by vin so there are no mistakes/ Please rate my response thank you very much
SOURCE: Door Ajar light and dinger, interior lights stay on, looking for a fuse diagram.
It drove me nuts too. Fortunately, the solution is both cheap and simple. There is a latch mechanism in each side of the tailgate which gets all filled with dirt and slime. The latch jaws start to stick and dont move far enough to close the door ajar switch inside the tailgate Spray each latch generously with WD40, wipe the mechanisms off with a rag, close the tailgate, open the tailgate and repeat the cleaning several times. As soon as you get everything freed up, the switch will be able to report that the tailgate is closed and the problems will be gone. If you want, afterwards you can spray a little lithium grease on the latches to keep things running smooth. You may need to use a screwdriver to completely pry open the jaws in conjunction with opening the tailgate handle to get them to open fully while you are washing and wiping them off. Now's a real good time to lubricate all the door hinges and latches including the sliding door. May as well put some oil on the hood hinges and hood latch too. It's not impossible to keep Fords on the road....just tricky......very tricky.
Take some WD40 and open the doors and spray a liberal amount into each of the door latches. Then open and close the doors firmly several times. This will work most of the time to unstick the ajar switches.
SOURCE: I need a diagram of a fuse box for a 1993 ford
Instead of spending $20.00 on the 1993 ford wagon fix it book check by the fuse panel under the steering wheel or on the foot well of the passenger side. If none available the look on line at ford parts type in make and model and look for diagrams of the fuse panel.
