SOURCE: My Sante Fe uses 3 quarts of oil between oil
they realy want you to worry dont they? why not go to aheavier grade of oil not synthetic, say 20w 60 in a multgrade or say 40 sae in a mono grade if you can get penrite oil where you live they make a 20/60 oil made for this type of sit uation and even if it was valve stem seals there are anumber of seal sofeners on the market such as redex. so dont worry about junkyards yet or or mechanical head jobs at stage , sleep easy and try the easy fixes first
SOURCE: engine oil
My owner's manual for my 2004 Classic recommends SAE 5W-30 engine oil. I wouldn't add any oil that is thicker than that, in colder weather your engine may not get the lubrication it needs. FYI, engine oil numbers indicate the viscosity of the oil, (the weight, or heaviness of the oil.) Higher numbers indicate thicker oil, and thicker oil may help if your engine is burning oil, but it also takes longer for the cold oil to get into the bearing surfaces.
SOURCE: OIl, synthetic or regular, what's the difference?
Synthetic oil won't break down as quickly as conventional oil, gives better protection and longer life. Excellent product, I Strongly suggested for those out there who forget to do their oil changes regularly or courier/ work vehicles.
Heres the link to an explaination from Castrol

I use conventional Oil in my jimmy with 5% of Lucas engine oil treatment and service the engine every 3,000 miles. I find it to costly for the Synthetic oil every 3,000 miles, and as for the high mileage oil you can buy. The high mileage oil has a higher fluid retention like adding Lucas engine oil treatment to any conventional oil, so you decide on what type of oil you like to use in your engine.
Good luck and hope this helps.
