There is no power steering belt - the PS pump is driven by the serpentine belt on the passenger end of the engine.

You need to get the front suspension checked as a precaution, to rule out damage. You should also check if you have any vehicle error codes (DTC\'s) set. You do not need a scan tool to do this - simultaneously hold in the top of the Info button and the On/Off button for a few seconds and your instrument panel will go into diagnostic mode. Be prepared with paper and pencil - you will likely have a bunch of them which you can then look up on the internet.



Mechanically, the most probable cause is a failing steering rack and pinion assembly, due to excessive wear on the rack bushings. This wear is usually caused by the protective rubber boots on the control rods failing (letting road crap get onto the exposed rods), or bad power steering fluid. Older Cadillacs are prone to this type of damage. Another possible cause is a failure of the variable effort steering actuator (part of the rack).

The stability control system is typically triggered by the abs system/connector sensor on your wheel hub bearing. If you haven't replaced your hub bearings on the front you may have one going bad. Cheap fix for a diy.

Make sure your steering wheel isn't locked. Sometimes a key won't turn until you jiggle the wheel while trying to turn the key.

check your brake switch under your steering may be there is wrong with it

YEP BAD FUEL PUMP WILL CAUSE STALLING AT LOW SPEED DRIVING ALSO OVER HEATING ENGINE,STUCK OPEN PCV OR EGR VALVE,FAULTY IDLE AIR SPEED CONTROL VALVE,FAULTY TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SOLENOID.I WOULD HAVE CAR CODE SCAN FIRST BEFORE BUYING A $500.00 FUEL PUMP.

You might want to try having your transducer analyzed at the dealership. They are the only ones with the proper testing equipment. Thank you, Dana
