Lexus ls 430 passenger side mirror stuck closed. Motor runs 30 seconds, stops, nothing moves.

are they not the same as the other cars where you will press a clip at the bottom of one of the post and you can slide out the headrest?

on my 2004 LS 430 the driver side mirror dosn't stop, it gos allaway back. any suggestion?

hello george... that mirror's internal cam is broken. the dealer is correct in saying that it has to be replaced. that said, I would recommend replacing it with a mirror from a used auto parts place, or an aftermarket mirror. price both by going to a body shop as they have all of those phone contacts. within just a couple of minutes they will tell you the cost of each option. most modern vehicles no longer have dipstics, but there is a fill plug, i do not know where it might be but look for a plug with a allen wrench hole on the tpo or upper side of the trans, with the plug removed add fluid untill you can see it thruogh the hole (if on top) or if it is on the side add untill it just starts to seep out at the bottom edge of the plug hole
