Could be a coolant leak. Open the hood and take a look.

Hi,

Sounds typical of head gasket failure.

With this you get oil into cylinders / water into cylinders, burning oil, loosing water - but no leaks. "boiling" of radiator and overflows.

Check your coolant and oil levels - they will be low.

Get a few quotes for a head gasket replacement - and timing belt change, as it has to come off when you do this anyway & no sense putting an old one on - they often snap if retensioned.

If this solves your problem, please take a moment to rate as Fixya! thanks.

BMW 128 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON

My wife's Honda CR-V has the "Check Engine" light come on every 7,500 miles telling you to get the oil changed. (It has no way of telling if it's been done or not.)

There are instructions in the Owner's Manual on how to reset it yourself...
