SOURCE: windows will not work from

First thing to check is the fuses. Look underneath the drivers side steering wheel (to the left) for a covered fuse box. Remove the cover and find the fuse that controls the locks and windows and mirrors (two-three separate fuses) Pull them out "one by one" and see if they are burned out. If they are, replace them with the correct number fuse.If it is not the fuse, the door lock actuator has failed (for the door locks) or the master switch that controls the locks is bad. Go to your local junk yard and find a replacement for cheap

Unlock all of the Jeepicon1.png Grand Cherokee's doors and open the driver's side door. Keeping the door open, lock it using the manual lock on the door itself.

    • 2

Put the manual key into the ignition and switch it to the "On" or "Run" position, whichever applicable, without starting the engine.

    • 3

Point the remote at the receiver (located by the little bulb on the caricon1.png ceiling) and hold down the "Lock" button for up to 5 seconds.

    • 4

When the driver's side door unlocks, you know the remote has been programmed correctly. If you are only programming one remote, jump to the next step. If not, manually re-lock the driver's side door and repeat steps 5 and 6 using each remote you would like to program and then continue.

    • 5

Turn the key to the "Off" position and turn the ignition on immediately. This must be done within 20 seconds of programming the last remote. You're finished!

I replaced the battery on a 2001 Jeep grand Cherokee and security is on so it wont start how do I reset computer to get it to start

Directly from the owners manual...
1.- Enter your car wth your ignition key and your theft remote, and press the Lock button on your remote five times in 10 seconds.
2.- Insert your key into the Jeep's ignition cylinder, and then turn the key to the "Run" position. Wait for the car's automatic chiming sound to stop before proceeding.
3.- Press and hold the Unlock button on your remote for around five seconds, and then press and hold the Panic button at the same time.
4.- Hold both buttons together for one second and then release. Wait for the car's chimes to sound again and then press and release the Lock and Unlock buttons on your remote.
5.- Press and release just the Unlock button on the remote next and wait for a chime again to indicate successful programming. You can then remove your ignition key to complete the resetting process.

Hope this helps; keep us updated.

The windows wont roll down, the auto lights dont work, the door locks wont lock, the remote mirrors wont work,

There is a black ground wire in the door that is a bit thicker than the others. This has a tendency to break after time. You need to cut the casing where the wires are, strip down the black wire coating and reconnect the wire. Then either sodder or tape the wire up and you will be just fine.
Free and easy way to fix the problem.

My keyless remote for my 2000 jeep grand cherokee wont unlock the

go to autozone and use the remote tester on the counter to make sure that the remote itself is functioning or not, could be a dead battery. On some vehicles it is possible to reset the keyless entry by turning the ignition switch from off to run (right before the starter activates) 3 times or so, if you try this and the door locks activate then press the lock button on your remotes. good luck
