SOURCE: Front window regulator

Remove inside panel, start by removing electric switchs from panel, and disconecting the female end. Inside panel can be removed by pulling tabs, a screw driver will do. You must then loosen bolts on window slide to free window. adjust regulator tab to approprate height to shut window, then assemble reverse directions.

SOURCE: 4 door sedan left front window regulator manual

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door. Slide the retaining clip on the window crank to the side and the crank will pop off. Then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. Then pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything. You'll need to disconnect the bolts holding the regulator to the frame and connecting the regulator to the base of the window (make sure you use wedges to hold the window up) and the regulator will slide out of the door.. reverse to put back

I have a 2000 chevy s10 2wd. Where is the relay switch to my drivers side window. The window switch is and the motor is good. But cant find the relay switch to check it and see if it's bad.

Sorry but there is no relay switch ! Go to www.bbbind.com free wiring diagrams .Check it out ! Your regulator is probably bad ! Is there B+ voltage at the switch , at the motor ?
Left Front Window Switch Operation
Place the ignition switch in the RUN position in order to supply battery voltage to the left front door lock and side window switch through the POWER WINDOW circuit breaker and the CKT 1001 (DK GRN). Press the left front window UP switch in order to supply battery voltage to the left front side window regulator motor through CKT 164 (DK BLU). The window motor is grounded through CKT 165 (BRN) and the window switch DOWN contact.
The regulator motor runs to drive the window to the UP position. Press the DOWN window switch in order to provide battery voltage to the window regulator motor in the opposite direction through CKT 165 (BRN). The window regulator motor is grounded through the CKT 164 (DK BLU) and the window switch UP contact. The motor runs in order to drive the window down.

Window cable broke so window does not go up and down

The window regulator cable on a Ford Expedition is part of the regulator assembly and is not serviceable separately. Therefore, if your Expedition's window regulator cable incurs damage, you'll need to replace the entire regulator. The cable moves the regulator up or down in response to the window motor. If the cable malfunctions, you won't have command of your Expedition's power window until you replace the regulator. If you have basic auto-repair skills and an hour of free time, you can replace your Expedition's window regulator. Pry the window switch bezel out of the Expedition's door panel using your trim tool. Disconnect the switch from the door harness by hand and set the switch/bezel assembly aside.

  • 2 Remove the hex head screws from the door panel using the Phillips screwdriver. Depending on the year of your Expedition, you may need to remove a trim cover from behind the inner door handle with the trim tool to expose that screw.
  • 3 Lift the door panel up and off the door by hand. If your Expedition has a courtesy light in the lower-trailing edge of the panel, disconnect that light from the door wiring harness before moving the panel away from the door.
  • 4 Push the Expedition's window to the top of the window frame by hand. Tape the glass to the top of the door with packing tape to prevent it from dropping back down.
  • 5 Remove the window regulator mounting bolts with the socket set. Unbolt the regulator from the window glass with the socket set. Pull the old regulator out of the Expedition's door by hand.
  • 6 Set the new window regulator into the Expedition's door by hand. Bolt it in place with the socket set.
  • 7 Reinstall the Expedition's door panel in reverse of how you removed it.

Power window will not roll up on 2004 expedition

window has become loose from regulator and jammed or regulator has failed or switch has failed. if you hear the lift motor spinning when you hit the switch you can rule out the switch. if the window simply fell down and won't come up i would think it is disconnected from the regulator. if the window was going up and down problematically for a few days prior to failing i would suspect the regulator. you can buy a regulator new on ebay and have a glass shop install it much more cheaply than a dealer.

2003 Expedition, cable broke on front power window. Are these replaceable? If not is this a do it your self repair or allow a dealer to fix.

They are replaceable although you must replace the entire window regulator. You may find some good deals online, and its a fairly easy job. Hopefully this helps!!
