It could be fuel pump. It may be something else... Engines need fuel, spark and air to run. Remove any one, it won't start.

Does your car have an external fuel filter? I will need more information to go on, is it gdi?

YOU NEED A LITTLE TUNE UP.REPLACE FUEL FILTER, REPLACE AIR FILTER,CLEAN FUEL INJECTORS.REPLACE SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES.IF ENGINE STILL SHAKE YOU COULD HAVE FUEL PUMP OR FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR PROBLEMS.

check moter and switch wichever is bad replace

the location of relay pump is at passenger side under the plastic cover near the door side

check fuel pressure

2001 Mits Montero 3.5, Fuel pump isn't responding. What do i do?

1. change the fuel filter.
2. buy a bottle of sea foam from your local auto parts store or lucas either one is the best. for bad fuel and water and trash.
