On the I6 engine, right down the throat of the throttle body.

Can The throttle body be accessed without having to take out anything?

  • Ryan Lutton

No, but it's very simple. Just remove the top plastic resonator. 2 bolts on the passenger side. Remove the hose clamp from the throttle body and the whole thing will pop up.

SOURCE: I have 2003 gmc envoy my front ac control does not

Need to check to see if the blower motor is running. If it is,but not threw the vents, most likely a vent door actuator motor. The actuator motor in this case would be bad,it is hard to get to,unless you are mechanically inclined,You can do it your self.If the blower motor is bad, just replace it.Check fuses first, and the blower relay. If I can help, let me know.

SOURCE: How do you replace a fuel pump on a 2003 gmc envoy

unfortunately you will need to drop the gas tank ....you will need a jack and jack stands for safety reasons and some tools sockets - {deep-well} and screwdrivers and patience and hopefully a warm area and pliers ........if you decide to do this first i can give you more detailed assistance on what to expect as well as difficulty level etc.....a few hours i assure you a bit of difficulty depending upon your mechanical skill and health i know i had to have mine sent out as i could only get it 3/4 the way out and i have been an auto/body mechanic and suspension paint metal etc for over 34 years but my health issues restrict me from even the simplest of tasks at times i hope this helps you in making a decision and ...................ensure in fact it truly is the fuel pump 1st have you determined this yet ? a pressure test can be made for free from most parts stores and a few major repair franchises

  4. Make sure the fuel pipe and hose connections, as well as the surrounding areas, are clean.
  5. Disconnect the fuel pipes from the fuel filter; keep the retaining clips with the filter.
  6. To avoid fuel loss and fuel system contamination, cap off the fuel pipes. Fuel filter removal and installation gm-05-00-1542.gif

My GMC 2003 Envoy will not start

first i would make sure that you have at least 10 volts at the little wire on the starter. if it is turning over you would need to check for fuel pressure, fire out of the coils and injector signal at the injectors. fuel pumps are a common problem.

Can't start my GMC envoy

this truck is famous for the fuelpump going bad, there are two things i would do, first is try spraying starting fluid into throtlbody and see if truck starts up, it may die back out once the fluid burns but this will tell you its a fuel problem and i'll bet it the pump, another trick is to have someone crank the engine while you beat on the bottom of the tank and see if it starts if it does then the pump is bad, the next thing is to have the computer scanned to see if there are any codes, these codes will point you in the right direction of whats wrong, start with the fuel check i think its the pump, hope this is helpful.

When should I tune a 2003 GMC Envoy 4.2 L engine with 44,000 miles on it?

There is no adjusting or tuning to do,for the last 25 years, the computers etc, do that
60,000 is long enough for spark plugs
You should have flushed the brake fluid, every two years
Coolant every three
Trans fluid and power steering every ,three or not more than 30,000 miles
Fuel and air filters every three years 30,000
