Location of hose connection for flushing 120 mercury wet jet

Removing the drain plug and just letting old coolant drain out and then refilling doesn't really flush it out. It only drains what is in the radiator and it doesn't circulate and flush what is in the engine and heater core.
Take radiator cap off, then take top radiator hose off where it comnects to the radiator..only disconnect that side of the radiator hose aim end of hose downwards and leave it there. Take a wet rag and push it into the radiator where the hose was connected..you don't want to push it in so far you have trouble removing after flushing...the wet rag is just to limit the amount of water that will come out of radiator where hose is no longer attached..crank car and coolant will start to slowly come out the vend of radiator hose aimed downward...have a hose or 4 or 5gallons of water...right after you crank the car pour the water or befilling the radiator with the hose...you want to keep the water going in the radiator as to keep it fulI...replace what is coming out of radiator hose...continue to add water until what is coming out of the radiator hose is clear water.. this way the water is circulating through the entire cooling system and engine. When water is coming out clean...turn car off remove rag from radiator and reconnecupper radiator hose..the drainplug is at the bottom of the radiator on the side of radiator that is on the drivers side of the car....remove drain plug and drain water left in radiator..replace drain plug and crank vehicle and fill radiator with coolant recommended for your vehicle... Sounds more complicated than it really is..other option take to a repair shop and have them flush with machine..usually around 100 bucks at ashop..Iif you have any questions Iwill be glad to answer..

Anmar. It won't be the thermostat...Sable and Taurus have a design problem. The heater core hose going into heater core from water pump gets plugged up right at the heater core bypass junction. At Hardware store..Buy hard plastic hose/tubing about 4ft long that just fits inside of the heater core hose. My ACE hardware has white hard tubing. Cut one end of the hard tubing at angle to use it as a reamer inside the heater core hose. Now place the hard tubing on top of heater hose to measure the distance on hard tubing it has to travel up to firewall . Mark with black marker on hard tubing. Remove the heater core hose from top of water pump and slide hard tubing in hose all the way up to where the bypass connection is feeling the obstruction...rotating the hard tubing as you gently shove it thru heater core hose. Slide it back and forth and keep rotating it until you feel it go past the Bypass junction...10 min at least. Now take off the heater hose from engine on driver side that comes from the heater exit side...Use garden hose high pressure and back flush the crud out. Re connect hoses, add fluid to reservoir as needed. Or take to shop and have them do this. Many shops just back flush...Have them do BOTH! Buy the plastic tubing ahead of time so they have no excuse. I have been doing this on my 98 Taurus since 1999. Done many of these...If you haven't changed thermostat for 4 years ...Change that as well. You tube has videos. Most likely it is a clogged heater core. Have your heater core reverse flushed or your blend door is stuck open.

these hoses are located at firwall where they connect to heatercore, they are tight to get to, they are easier to get at from the bottom of the car, not sure what your doing but if you are trying to flush the core you can get them at motor and flush for there.hope this helps

flushing out the radiator just cleans the radiator if your not getting any heat you will have to locate the 2 hoses that go into the firewall and either remove them from the moter or the fire wall and using a garden hose flush the heater core out.

the easiest way is to connect a hose to a top hose (the same diameter)and remove the radiator cap,this backward flush will get all the rust/dust from out of the system.then undo the clip on the bottom hose of the radiator to drain it before filling with the CORRECT antifreeze.then run the engine to full temp and undo the topmost heater hose to bleed any trapped air.i recommend 50/50 antifreeze to water.there are other ways but this works for me...

the thermostat housing is located where the radiator hose connects to the engine. you'll need a flush kit to flush it out, it comes with instructions

follow the top radiator hose to engine it connects to the thermostat housing,remove hose then the two bolts holding down the housing and lift off,there is your thermostat

follow the upper radiator hose until it ends at the engine.the stat should be under the outlet that the hose is connected to.

Look under the hood on the fire wall where the heater hoses go into the interior ogf the car. The heater core is just inside under the dash. theree is no easy way to tak out the heater core. But it is done all the time.
Do that only if it's leaking and the carpet under the dash is wet. If not, try flushing the heater core .With the engine cold and the radiator empty, Take both hoses off that connect to the heater core. Insert some hoses to both the inlet and outlet so you can direct the water down and away from the engine. With a good stream of water pressure. Put the water hose into one of the inlets. And spray the water in until it comes out the other hose. Flush out everything that may be clogging the core.
