SOURCE: MY 96 HONDA ACCORD'S TRANSMISSION WON'T GO INTO GEAR WHEN I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP UNTIL IT COOLS OFF THEN IT RUN'S FINE UNTIL IT HEATS UP AGAIN

Hello

The engine and the automatic transmission in this vehicle are computer controlled and in most cases when a fault occurs a fault code is stored in the memory of the computer control module. There are exception to this, such as the Mass Airflow Meter and fuel pressure problems. What must be done is to have all the basic testing done such as a scan of the system for fault codes as well as a check with a live data scanner tool for engine functions that are not within range of normal, a trained technician is required to know what is correct and what isn't, then based on careful diagnostics done from a factory repair manual the correct part is replaced or the wiring repaired or the computer replaced (known as the PCM), which is very rarely the problem. Other basic checks must be done as well such as mechanical problems with the engine as well as engine state of tune and mileage on the engine. The transmission can have mechanical issues as well such as no gear engagement at all or a filed pump or other pressure related problems.

My 2000 Sable won't move though gear selector appears to be in tack. Was making a left turn heard a loud pop on the right front side of the car then what appeared to be a rubbing or scraping noise...

the problem has to be in the linkage inside the transmission which means that you have to take into a mechanic to have them fix this because if you do not know how to take the transmission apart yourself is the reason why to take it to the nearest mechanic. Sorry

My axel on the passenger side came out while i was removing the stock springs and i was wondering if i could put the tire back on and put the car down on it to loosen the axel bolt or would that do more...

If it is a manual (5 spd) you don't want to lower it back down or you will loose gear oil. Ram the axle back into the transmission until it pops into place. You will feel it pop. Then, wiggle it in and out to make certain that it is in. There will be a tiny bit of play (if any). As long as the bearings inside the CV Boot did not come off of their little splines, you didn't hurt anything. Next time remove the hub nut so you can swing the spindle (knuckle) out of the way with out pulling on the axle. Good luck.

It sounds like it is the throw out bearing. From your description of the vehicle not pulling its weight, it is going to need a clutch. The throw out bearing will come in most clutch kits, so when you replace the clutch you can replace the throw out bearing, pressure plate, and pilot bushing.

1988 buick century dies when put in gear

Sounds like the lock up torque convertor in the transmission is stuck in the engaged position. There is a sensor switch under the hood that can be temporarily unpluged but leaving it unplugged can ruin the transmission. Take it to a tranny shop.
