SOURCE: 2002 Toyota Sienna Sunroof

There are 4 drains on the sunroof (2 in each front corner, 2 in each rear corner).
If you want to check to see if they are clear, you can do this.

Get a squeeze bulb (about the size of a turkey baster) and squirt water down each drain, look for water draining out at the bottom of the car. For the rear drains, park the car on a slight uphill, and gently squeeze water down the drain trough on each side, here again, look for water draining out of the car.
If those ar clear, next step is to check the seal of the glass. The drains are only designed to take in a small amount of water, if there is too big of a gap between the panel and the body, it will over run the drain troughs (kind of like when the gutters on a house get stuff in them).

Finding water leaks is kind of a pain, but not if you take it a step at a time.
One thing to remember, water does not run uphill.

So to further water test it. Find a place where you can park it uphill or downhill, grab a flashlight, a friend and a hose.
Start at a low spot, and work your way around the sunroof (one person inside with the light, one outside with the hose). Just let the water run slowly, you don't want to use a nozzle or a spray.
Once you can see when the water starts leaking on the inside, you can narrow down the cause.

SOURCE: leaking sunroof in 98 Saturn SC2

The drain hoses get clogged behind the kick panels. Pull back the kick panel and reach in grab the hose and pull it out from the hole in the lower panel. Then I just cut off the end and watch the mud and water flow out then reinstall. There is also one in the rear wheel wells as well for the back drains.
There is no reason to remove the headliner unless its broke.

SOURCE: rear floorboard behind driver set wet after rain

do you have a sun roof, if so start there, because there are two hoses at the back corners of the roof pan that allow water to drain, if they leak, they will soak the rear floorboards, and if not that check the door jam seals.(note that if the plugs on the floor are missing that will be verry hard not to have wet carpet)........let me know?

Were are the sunroof drain holes on a 1995 960 volvo wagon

They are in each corner of the sunroof "cartridge". The way to tell if they work is to open the sunroof and slowly pour a little water in each corner. The front corners should drain down behind the front wheels. The rear corners should drain down in front of the rear wheels.

The most likely scenario is that there are leaves and dirt in the drains, so you want to clear that out. You can use a sturdy nylon line (like nylon fishtape) to gently free up the drains. The front ones are relatively easy to get to from the top of the car with the sunroof open (you can see the holes with a flashlight).

The rear ones are easier to get to from the rear of the car. If you open the panels on the side in the tailgate, you'll see a little black vent/valve with a hose attached to it. Pry that off gently, then feed the nylon line backwards up there and push back and forth a bit, then pour some water down the sunroof to flush it.

Another thing that can happen is that the hose has come apart. The front ones are easy to get to behind the A-pillar trim.
The rear ones have a union right behind the rear doors over the door/rear window. You might have to drop the C pillar trim and possibly the headliner, to be able to get to that.

The water should tell you though. If the hoses are intact, water will come out each corner of the car - then they're probably just plugged.

If this was after a HEAVY rain, you might want to add a new seal to the sunroof too. That will seal it to the roof and let in less water, leaving the hoses more able to drain the water away.

You can also park the car on an incline if you don't have time to work on it now. If it drains fine from the front drains, park the car nose down, even if it's a very little slope, the water won't drip through your dome light. :D

Sunroof needs adjustment over drivers seat ..leaks

Many fords have some minor adjustments of the roof, the brackets that support the Sunroof or power sunroof have very small Hex nuts you can loosen and shift the sunroof around, if its leaking it could be some other problem such as the drain tubes, there is usually 2 to 4 drains one on each corner that water drains down a tube through each door pillar, check the tube ports in the sunroof catch basin, they could be clogged with old leaves or dirt, run compressed air through each tube and verify at the other end its working.

Hi I have the same issue with my a 2002 explorer xlt 4 door no sun roof. when it rains or goes through the car wash the drivers side seat belt gets soaked and water runs down to the floor board soaking the...

There are drains for the sunroof that are located in the coners of the roof, these plug up and the water drains into car, you will need to remove the cover were the seatbelt is and see if the hose that connects to the drain fell off or if drain is plugged, open the roof all the way back and using a bottle filled with water , pour over the drains one at a time and see if it drains if not you will need to use a coat hanger and unplug them but i would still check for the hose off on the side that leaks water. good day.

Where do the sunroof drain tubes exit this vehicle?

There are a total of four drains, two front, two rear. The front drains empty out inside of each front door jam. The rear drains empty out inside of the rear bumper. If you drain holes are clogged, use an air compressor to unclog not other as you may either break the drain tube or wack it out of place. I believe there is a technical service bulletin for Grand Prix sunroof mdels 1998-2005, In your sunroof leaks, contact your dealer for more info. Take care and hopes this works for you.
