SOURCE: 2004 A4 1.8T Brake Lights Remain On After Car Is Parked
Sounds like your brake light switch is on its way out. Its a simple fix and a cheap part. It will need to be done immediately as not only can the lights staying on drain your battery but it can also cause lack of power and not put the brake lights on when braking. The switch is operated by the pedal itself and requires the drivers underdash trim to be removed. With this off the switch can be accessed and replaced. If you can get a vehicle technician to fit it, do so, as they are quite fragile and new switches can become useless if fitted incorrectly. Good luck
SOURCE: Engine will not crank intermitantly
Crank sensor can translate heat. Not allowing restart after the turbo heat radiates in the area. Try a wad of aluminum foil in front of the crank sensor(on the block behind the turbo) . It protects it from heat and its a cheep test. If this works you can make a better sheild or leave the foil.

is the relay ok? i think what you are hearing could be 2 relays at the same time. i think the fuel relay works with another aluminium looking one. there's usually a few of them that are identical so you can swop to check.

Hello, I would assume this is a starter problem. You can go to Autozone and get a free diagnostic of your electrical system for free and tell you if your starter, alternator, battery is bad and/or if you have any trouble codes present in your system. I would also check your battery connections to see if they are tight and I would also check and see if your starter cables are tight as well. I hope this helps you and Good Luck!
