My 2005 nissan sentra has hand straps above the doors. The front passenger strap became undone on one end. Is there an easy way that I can re-attach the handle?

SOURCE: installing a Nissan Sentra Passenger Side Manual Non Folding Mirror.

had to install a driver side non folding mirror, fairly simply to say the least. There's a cover on the interior of the door, near the window, remove the cover, remove the 3 screws, need i believe a 10mm socket. If a power window, unhook the circuit. Replace new mirror.

SOURCE: replacing door handle on nissan pickup

Lift up the handle, you will see the bolts there, You will also have to pry off inside door panel (after removing any screws) than you will have access to the nuts. That's all there is to it.

SOURCE: how to remove front passenger side interior door panel

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

SOURCE: Removal of Front Door Handle Pintara Nissan

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge.

How do I repair the vt commodore rh front door escutcheon assy

Good afternoon,

From my previous experience and knowledge you will nomal get lick a cracking and knocking when opening the door this is due to worn check strap centre bush.
In some cases you can just replace the bush but depending on how long its been like it I have found with some commodores when you loosen the bolt they tend to break .So I would recommend you change the whole check strap ,bush and bolt assembly.
if you go the the front a pillar and open the door you will see the top and bottom hinges approx. half way up you will see then plate with a 10mm bolt through it attach to the a pillar.
1.remove the 10mm bolt an nut.this end will then come away from a pillar.
2.fully open door on the other end of check strap you will find to 10mm nuts remove these and check strap will be removable.
3.please remove the door will have no tension.
4.fit new check strap to inside of door.
5.then slow close door so you can align the check strap with a pillar bracket once this is done .
6.fit 10mm bolt and nut and tighten do not over tighten .
7.open and close door cracking noise will be gone ..
hope this helps you

I can't find my oil filter or drain plug, can you

position varies slightly with different engines but the plug should be at the rear of the pan just above the bottom. (some are on the side or front but always just above the bottom of the pan) Filter is usually on the passenger side but I think there may be one that is up front on one of the v8 engines.
Filter always looks the same except that the color may be different depending upon who made it..Make sure you remove the seal if it gets stuck to the filter pad on the engine, always wipe a small amount of grease on the new seal before installing it. When possible, partially fill the filter with new oil before installing it. In most applications a strap wrench with a swivel handle is best for removal. To install, turn it hand tight and only about 1/4 turn further with the strap. If your steering components have grease fittings now is the time to lube the front end as well!

In the cold driver door does not open

as wierd as this sounds, where the door meets the car at the rubber seal, rub canola oil or some kind of cooking oil, it does not freeze and the door will not stick to the car. Another problem can be that the check strap, the little strap (usually looks like a little metal bar that comes out the front edge of the door between the two hinges) gets sticky. White grease can help that sometimes.

Thermostat

Follow the bottom hose around the back of the engine and over to the passenger side. This hose ends up almost directly behind the front/top hose (where the thermostat should be...but that would be too easy). Unbolt 3 bolts holding the housing on, pop off the housing, and the thermostat should just pop right out.
