96 E240 351w Doesn't want to start when raining, it acts like the spark intermittently goes way advanced and will actually stop the starter.

It will also cough and sputter if you push the accelerator too much after it finally does start until it's dry and then it starts and runs fine

SOURCE: hard starting in wet weather

Replace the ignition coil under the distributor cap. What you have is a hairline crack in it, and, when it is damp, the spark arcs out of the crack to ground, no spark. This is a VERY common problem with older Camrys. Take the coil off, and look at it real closely. You will see black marks on it, from the crack. I am very sure that this will eliminate your problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa!

SOURCE: starting in damp weather 1993 240 wagon, auto/od, 235k miles

perhaps you need a new cap and roter a new spark plug wire set. they don;t like moisture. also check to see if you have any broken or leaking vacuum hoses. the worse case senerio would be that your head gasket is leaking--at cold temps a little antifreeze will enter until everything warms up and it seals shut due to metal expanding. but since you say it's cold weather only--this probably wou;dn't be the case. good luck.

SOURCE: 1992 ford aerostar van wont start after it rains

I just had this exact problem. Wouldn't start or took 15 trys to start, but then ran smoothly. Sometimes a little rough starting on dry days, but pretty much hard starting after rain. I was thinking water in my tank/bad gas, but shooting some starter fluid in my intake didn't give me the initial blast at start up... that certainly indicated that it was electrical...
...but the next day the vehicle stalled in the middle lane of a three lane street, wouldn't restart. After pushing it to the curb, I got to the point where I was checking the wire from the coil to the distributor cap. Two thirds of the wire lifted right out. This wire was in 2 pieces! Amazing that it had been running at all, with this one wire burned down to a whisper, before it broke completely. There were signs of heat/elec damage to the wire also at a point an inch away on this wire.
Replacing the wires is absolutely the first thing to try. It's cheap and easy to do, and it should be done (or the wires inspected/tested) routinely anyway. The coil-to-distributor coil gets more engine heat and more use than any of the indiv spark plug wires and hence wears much faster.
I am betting this wire is much more likely your problem than a coil failure. Good Luck!

Hey man if you already changed out the relay i would try changing your fuel pump and sending unit that should stop both of your problems.

99 chevy g3500 wont start

do you have injector pulse? the "hall effect" you mentioned is the camshaft position sensor it times the injectors to the ignition fire. the coil is actually triggered by the crankshaft sensor . is the rotor turning while starter is engaged, if not the drive gear pin could be sheared and not getting the spark out to the wires.GOOD LUCK.

I have a 96 Chevy Corsica and it won't start.... I

If you have a healthy spark (a blue snapping spark), it would not be a problem in the ignition system or the module. An orange, weak, or intermittent spark could point to trouble in the ignition.
I would check the timing on it, maybe it is a timing chain problem. It should have fired and ran a bit with the starter fluid. The fact that it didn't, even with a good spark, well, probably needs a little shop time investigating. Jumped timing from a worn chain? Low compression in one or more cylinders? A couple of things you need to consider.
Good luck.

96 Grand Caravan just died

No spark indicates either a coil, distributor,or crank position sensor problem.
