All fuses and relays out and alt.undone still pulling power ???????
did you check your light bulbs? I have found unlit bulbs sometimes pull power (short) also make sure every door is closed and the hood light is removed you want no power flowing in the car check you door switches push them in by hand and check the testlight if the test light is glowing brightly the alternator is not at fault have you removed the engine fuses and or, relays? check your owner's manual for ALL fuses and relay places
I found a few stap type fuses that bolt on in a box staped to the battery box that run off the positive side. You want me to undo the one at a time
yes please
Ran out of time I will try tomorrow
Thankyou
Found 3 the green one is drawing a lot and the other 2 very little
now you will need to trace the offending wire and see where it goes good job!

Hiya
Hmmm...I wonder if several Equinox's battery that lose voltage only happen on factory installed radios with XM OPTION ONLY ???
Newer Equinoxes (and Pontiac Torrents) now have XM and regular radio wires are combined into one antenna installed on the roof (just above the rear hatchdoor area)
My gut feeling is that IF the XM's wire is pinched by the left rear plastic trim's metal clip inside (the upper interior trim part is behind the left rear quarter window)
It MIGHT be the cause of the radio's 'short-circuit' if the tan-coloured wire is pinched onto the metal body frame....perhaps you could pry that trim part out carefully to check for XM's tan-coloured thin wire located there.
IF you wish to check this out, pop open the rear hatchback door and look for the plastic trim part located at the upper-corner between the left-rear quarter window and hatchback area.
FYI: it has 6 vertical metal clips behind the plastic trim part....ensure it goes back into place properly without bending it during reinstallation......IF you need to replace the XM's tan-coloured wire, the XM wire socket are connected from the rear roof antenna to the XM unit located below the interior left rear quarter window area.
Hope it helps!
SOURCE: when battery is connected fuel door and trunk open
well for starters there is many factors at play here. 1. battery chargers need to be on and battery disconnected. make sure if it has a timer it did not run out and (the charger may also have an internal fues/ relay ) if it gets too hot it shut off. Was the charger on a high enough setting to compenstate for the drain and is your battery good enough to be charged even. constantly drained batteries will actully not hold a charge after awhile. most parts or even walmart can check batteries free>
The trunk lights and fuel door on the same fuse? otherwise I would say the trunk has a bad switch that is not making contact or is making poor contact and acting as the trunk is open. it may just be pinched wires that rubbed together make contact with your cars steel body. They may be seen in the trunk follow the wires from the release switch and see if it connects anyplace near the fuel door. I am sure it will.

you have a bad cell in your battery or a major draw on electric system. I would have the battery tested first.
SOURCE: battery goes dead overnight on four occasions
I dont think the dealer knew what he was doing ,your altenator has 6 diodes inside it and the are a one way check valve for current,If one fails no light will come on because it is still charging,But will drain your battery,I hope this helps you and have a merry x mas and please dont forget to vote on this solution

You will need to remove the door door panel with the door closed to unlatch the door mechanism, sorry but no way around that.
