The most likely location will be on the indicator (turn signal) stalk. There is a twist collar to turn on your head lights. Next to this, nearer the steering column, is a second twist collar for the fog lights. The below image is of a 2015 frontier but it is basically the same switch. The switch may only twist when the dipped lights are turned on.

On the left above fuse box panel in side the truck (on the drivers lower of dash is the access)... the flasher relay will click if bad, when you turn key on and turn on directional signal... you will feel it clicking with your hand.... some modes have the relay under the hood in the relay box just above battery....

Sounds like multi-function/ turn signal switch

It is under the center of the dash behind the lower cover. (Directly in front of the center console)

did both signal lights stop working at the same time or not,it may just be the signal flasher has gone bad,it is located under the dash by the fuse panel.if the hazard flashers work then i would say the signal flasher is bad.with the hazards on you can locate it and that is what the signal flasher looks like and it is a separate flasher,

check wireing

there is cover plate on cross member for back wheels. it is behide it.

well good place to start would be with checking and perhaps replacing the flasher usually located in fuse box! good luck hope this helps
