SOURCE: where is the fuse for the electric seat on the
The fuse for the power seat on the driver side in a 2002 X-Type is located in the passenger compartment fuse box. This fuse box is located on the driver side of the car, under the dash.
The fuse you are looking for is a green 30 amp fuse in position F66. Where is F66? When you open the fuse box, you will see some larger relays with 4 rows of fuses below it. The first row has a series of 7 fuses, an open space and then one single fuse on the right had side of the fuse box. The fuse you are looking for is the 7th in the row (the last one in the large grouping of fuses on the first row of fuses.
Thank you for using the fixya forums!
SOURCE: TAKE OUT REAR SEAT ON 2002 JAGUAR X TYPE")
I had the same issue today with a 2004 jag.
1. Once I had the locksmith open the door. We proceeded to remove the back seat. Not an easy task, but this is the only way.
A. remove the plastic kick plate on floor leading to back seat. This will allow you to pull out the padded liner that is not part of the seat but cushions each side. It will not completely come out, but expose a star nut that must be turned loose with six more later on.
b. The front of the back seat is held down by two copper u shaped wires, that must be popped up and out of a white piece of plastic, Once this is done you can lift up the seat portion and remove it from the car. You will now see six star bolts that must be removed. After you take them out the round bar holding the upper portion of the seat can be removed or popped out enough so that you can seperate or spread the back portion of the seat from each other in sections. Once this is done you will be able to pull out a section far enough out to gain access to the trunk.
It takes about 15 minutes once you understand what your doing, and about an hour if you have never done it. The trick is allowing the lock smith to open the car. The alarm will sound off for about 2 minutes then stop. Unless you have the rear center console removalbe panel and arm rest, then the only course is exactly what I did, removing the back seat. They charged me 150.00 dollars with me doing most of the work. Not much I could say, as I was the *** that locked my keys in the trunk. Best bet for a Jag is to carry another key with electronic trunk opener mounted underneath the car in a key lock box. Well worth the investment, as most people end up getting their car towed.
It is poor feature on a Jag that the only way you can get in a locked trunk is through the back seat, but this is how it is done.
Believe me, it is the only way other than having it towed to the Jag dealer so he can figure out. Thier is a way to jump a wire under the passenger side dash, but you may end up shorting out the whole electrical system, I dont think it is worth the risk, unless the person doing it, has previous experince. Hope this helps, and happy tearing out your back seat. You can do it, the first time is always a little tough.
