Fuel pressure is not controlled by the pump, but rather by the fuel pressure regulator.

4.9 litre ?? you having a laugh its a 10ton truck engine not a pick up -global warming machine, remove the pump/sender unit and check the gauze filter also look inside tank for a something floating around ,i think the idles is not a related problem to the vehicle losing power but their is a possibility you could have a problem with the little vac operated thing on the fuel injector line that allows the fuel through only when the engine is running

Driver fuel module ???? Under the back seat ? The part your calling a driver fuel module is the fuel pump driver module ! What fuse do you pull ? If you would like help you need to go into more details . Your vehicle has electronic returnless fuel system (computer controlled ) Having the vehicle checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes could shed some light on to the problem . There is a fuel pressure sensor on the fuel injector fuel rail ,this is a input to the PCM engine computer .The PCM talks to the FPDM -fuel pump driver module to speed up or slow down the fuel pump .

Fuel pressure

Well most engines have a mechanical pump on the engine, but the E350 models used for motor homes and box vans also use an electric pump in the tank. The pressure rating is still 5-8 psi like the mechanical pumps.
Have you replaced the inline filter ?

Car starts but won't stay running

Check on your inline fuel filter. If this clogged the fuel pump cannot pump gas through it to get to motor.

There is a strainer filter attached to the fuel pump in the tank however you really need to see how much gas is actually in your tank first. Sounds like a fuel line may be pinched.

I think your looking at a fuel line problem. I'd check the filter first if you have an inline filter on your car. If thats not it, check filter on fuel pump and fuel pump is operating as it is supposed to. sounds like you probably have a partial blockage in your line and when the fuel it flowing faster it doesn't effect it as much. I'm thinking fuel filter and you probably have 1 inline on that vehicle.
