Is there a leak in the fuel line, where is it? Is this a nylon fuel line? They make nylon fuel line repair kits, with the proper fittings and unions, whatever. I don't know anything about these kits? Your main concern would be, no fuel leaks. If a leak, it might start a fire? Safety is your responsibility.
If fuel line set-up is not factory set-up, then, I don't like it. I don't like splices in fuel lines. Just my opinion.
I can't tell much w/o looking at your vehicles fuel line.

At the battery there is a tan or brown wire that if you touch it to the pos battery post should make the pump run. This bypasses the relay. Also, you can put a fuel pressure tester on the injector fuel rail - there is a connector that looks like an air pressure valve. Turn on the key and the pump should run. Pressure s/b typically arount 36 - 45 lbs. The motor will run with pressure down to about 28 - 30 lbs although maybe not very well. Below about 24 lbs it will simply not run at all. Sometimes when a pump goes it quits entirely, and sometimes it just gets tired but doesn't stop completely.

yes you have to drop the tank. you will also need a fuel line tool to unhook the fuel lines. before you drop the tank see if tou can reach and wiggle the electrical connection on the top of the tank. these pumps have a pigtail issue. please rate

HI, the fuel gauge sending unit is malfunctioning. this is located inside the fuel tank and, it is part of the fuel pump assembly. replacing this failing component will fix this issue.

HI.Your fuel pump is an integrated part of the pump module, which also contains the fuel reservoir, level sensor, inlet strainer and fuel pressure regulator. The inlet strainer, fuel pressure regulator and level sensor are the only serviceable items. If the fuel pump requires service, replace the entire fuel pump module.
There is no access panel. You will need to, slightly, drop the fuel tank, in order to extract the module for replacement. This module it mounted on-top of the tank. the module is inserted into the tank.

No, like others said, there's an access plate under the rear seats. Most imports (Honda, Toyota, Nissan) have this access plate to get to the pump. Some domestics don't (90's Camaros etc)
