You may have a bad cylinder head or head gasket and the water is scaping by the exhaust; this answer is very sad because the repair may be very expensive. You may need to take it to a shop for a head compression test. I hope this may help.

Does it over heat? You may have a blown head gasket. Check the compression on each cylinder.

SOURCE: Anti-freeze leak

If it's leaking at the top of the engine down. Look at the top of the engine at the front and you'll see a bleeder valve on top a black housing. These housings like to come apart at the glued seams. If it's leaking at the lower part of the engine towards the front, it could be your water pump leaking. Check your oil and if you see the color of the oil looking like chocolate milk, your water pump needs replaced, the oil will need changing as well. Do a coolant system pressure test and see if your hoses somewhere are leaking. Also check for your surge tank leaking. This is the tank that you put coolant into.

SOURCE: 2002 chrysler sebring 2.4l leaking water is it water pump

Those engines are noted for having bad head gaskets so I would look into having your head gasket cheked for leaks. If you look you should see the seem where the head(which is where the manifolds bolt to and the spark plugs screw into and the cams are on top)meets the block and check for any wet spots on this seem front and back.If it is leaking bad enough you should be able to run the car and let it get to operating temp.and have water presure in the engine then it will be easier to locate the leak.I would also check the oil for any creamy looking substance on the oil fill cap or the oil dip stick which would also indicate a head gasket problem.

Hi,

This is called the water pump weep passage which is a sign that your seal in the water pump has failed.

You need to replace the water pump.

I have a 2008 pt cruiser, i don't know where to add water... does anyone know or are there any demonstrations that would be helpful to me?

Kecia, where are you putting in the coolant, that is where you want to add distilled water. Save yourself some trouble and buy premixed coolant then you do not have to add water. If not using premixed coolant, mix coolant and water 50/50, or half distilled water half coolant before you pour it in cooling system. It also sounds like you are having a overheating issue which you should have looked at sooner then later. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Smoke from the exhaust at start up means that the valve seals are leaking oil into the cylinder, smoke when you accellerate means that the piston rings are leaking oil.

CAN TOO MUCH ANTIFREEZE DO DAMAGE?

It will freeze it will cut down the high heat ability compared with antifreeze mixed with water it will also cut down the corrosion ability. Add distilled water not tap water!! also use the antifreeze made for the car like Zerex for Chrysler you can get at Napa Auto. Don't mix unless you have to if you mix 5year antifreeze with regular it is only as good as regular

2006 chyrsler sebring coolant reservoir empty everyday but o leaks

If nothing is leaking externally from engine area, then I'd have my exhaust analyzed for coolant coming out the exhaust. Bad intake gasket or head gasket usually indicated by coolant out the exhaust pipe.

My 2004 chrysler sebring overheats really bad, i can barely drive 3 miles before it reaches 3/4. I replaced the thermostat and both of the fans kick on.

you would only have water in the oil if there was a a leak in the head gasket or water jacket ports in the engine. if you are losing water, that quickly, then it's either a hose, radiator, or water pump. put a piece of cardboard under veh after youve filled the radiator and veh is cool, that way you can determine the location of leak. if you don't see the location of leak the next day, then odds are it is the water pump and only loses water after engine warms up an pressure forces it out the weep hole in the pump while driving. (note: if you have white smoke coming out of tailpipe then you probably have a blowed head gasket,)

Antifreeze leak at lower raditor housing? antifreeze dripping down oilpan by dipstick tube and aircondition compressor only when hot.

you may have a water pump that is starting to fail. Look for the water pump that's driven by the fan belt. look at the housing of the water pump there is a relief hole that they drill in the casting and when the pump begins to fail it will drip out this hole. If that's where your leak is, it's time to change the pump.
