2003 Fanta fe horn works and than it wont for a long time till it feels like working again

Pull the horn fuse till you figure out the problem. The problem could be the horn relay or more likely the ground circuit in the steering column. The horn button is part of ground circuit.

when pushing on the horn pad you may hear a click noise this tells you the circuit is good from the horn pad to the horn relay and out to the horn. find the horn and check for power at the horn terminal when the horn pad is pushed. if it lights up then replace the horn. if it doesn`t then you will have to check for a wire problem from the horn back to the relay. but horns are usually the problem.

most times that will not work. the pressure is to high. I do not advise it. replace the whole section till you get to a mechanical junction fuel leaks cause fire and explosions.

my 04 ford 6.0 doesnt start some times but if i turn the key on for 20 seconds then turn key off and do it again for 20 seconds and the 3rd time it starts but dont crank it over till the 3rd time its been working for me

Its located to the left of the fuse panel kinda hidden, should be silver and it removes just like a fuse tug stright back till it pops out just look at the way the prongs came out so its easy to install the new one...

yes thats easy till to do but when you take vehicle for its annual mechanical inspection ,then it will fail because its not original .

Hope you changed plugs as well
When you had problem with coil,plugs will get damaged,and will malfuntion

Horns have power to them all the time. When you push the horn button, you are completing a circuit by providing a Ground.


Before the horn gets it's power for the 2003 Pontaic GrandAm, the power goes through a Horn Relay. (Number 21 relay)

It may be a bad relay, horn slip ring contact button, (Located under steering wheel), or bad horn/s.

The horns are located up under the front air dam, tucked up close to the air conditioner condenser. VERY hard to get to.

You can drive it till it breaks of course, that will cost much more then replacing it as maintenance though. I would plan to have it changed much sooner then later as you are already past your recomended service time.
