SOURCE: 1996 toy corolla cv axle removal

Use a pry bar and lever the axle out of the transmission.

It's easier if you have the outer end of the axle already removed from the hub.

To put the axle back in, use one quick shove and it will pop into place.

Transmission whining

Sounds like your trans is slipping, and the popping could either be your cv axles or the first gear in your trans is just going out..what have you replaced on the car and what year and model is it?

Cv joint popping out right front

The CV Joint would have to come out, take the boot out. The cv joing is probably coming out of the end. There is like a washer that holds it in place and is possible that is out of place.
I hope this helps!

In changeling the driver side axle on a 2008 Town and Country van and it acts like its stuck. Is there clips holding it in?

Yes, there is a circlip on the shaft, which fits in a groove inside the transaxle. It just fits tight enough that it can be pried, or actually popped out of the groove. Put a prying bar between the CV joint housing and the transaxle case, and just try to " pop" the axle out and loose. It should move out about a half inch, then you can grab hold and slide it out easily.

How do I put on a front driver axle on a 1990 prizm ?

Remove axle nut that goes thru your hub and rotor, seperate the strut and spindle by removing the 2 nuts and bolts at base of strut, pull spindle towards you force outside of axle out of hub and pop out the axle at the transmisson some fluid may come out. reverse proceedure to install and top off your trans.

Axle sharft assemply- removal and installation

Pretty easy if your mechanically inclined. Raise the vechicle and put it on jack stands. Remove the tire unbolt the outer tie rod hit around it a few times with a hammer since its been in for awhile and that will release it unbolt lower ball joint hit around it with your hammer you'll need a pry bar pry down on the lower control arm so the ball joint will pop out of the knuckle. Remove the cotter pin from the center bolt then remove the center bolt which may be between a 21mm to a 30mm before you completely remove the bolt tap on it a few time to loosen the axle from the bearing. Pull the spindle toward you and the axle should come out. With your pry bar pry the inner shaft out from the transmission. take the new one put it back into the tranny tap on it lightly with the bolt back on because you dont want to ruin the threads and once it flushes just put it back through the spindle put the ball joint back in put the tie rod back on tighten everything dont forget to put cotter pins back in. Sounds like fun I have to do one this weekend Good luck

Trans axles

remove whole axle.. take strut assembly and steering gear apart ,. then big nut at hub, pull strut/steering linkage away from axle out of center...then pop inner axle shaft out of transmission , with drip pan underneath as you will flow trans fluid from there..do both sides then separate trans and drop...good luck

1987 Prelude weird slip issues.

The axle isn't seated all the way into the transmission.Inside the transmission is the differential, the axle goes into a side gear, called a spider gear, and slips into splines inside the spider gear.Once in to a certain point, there is a retainer clip on the end of the axle that pops out when seated all the way into the spider gear in the trans, and this holds,or retains the axle in the trans. If whoever worked on the car didn't have the axle fully seated to where the clip popped out, then the axle will eventually slide back out of the trans, disengaging the splines, and causing the vehicle to not move.Good luck.
