2004 LINCOLN LS TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT FLASHING & ABS LIGHT ON & BRAKE LIGHT ON. DTC CODES B1342, C1730, C1998.

first check brake fluid level then you will have to test the wheel speed sensors that the codes refer to. when there is a sensor problem it will activate both the abs and traction control lights. the red brake light comes on when there is low fluid condition(leak),worn brakes that need servicing. also if there is a abs module problem it can set codes. you need to know what the codes mean this is a starting place to diagnoise.

The speedometer on my 2000 ls does not work along with the traction control/ABS. I do not think it is a speed sensor as the cruise control works fine. Any guesses?

Trac & ABS is a braking system malfunction

Could very well be a Wheel Speed Sensor

Speedometer - is another problem that has to be
diagnosed

All LS issues need a scan tool to access the systems

Need a repair shop

My 2002 Lincoln LS v6 Lost Engine Power,Traction Control Light was flashing & ABS light Came on! ANY IDEA?

Had the same problem with my 2002 Lincoln LS, it was a bad wheel speed sensor. The right front wheel bearing had some play in it, so I had the hub assembly replaced. The hub assembly comes with a new wheel speed sensor attached. After I replaced the hub assmbly with sensor, the ABS and Traction Control lights went off. No problem since!

2000 LINCOLN LS, WELL WHEN THEY DID THE TEST THE CODE WAS B1342 ABS MODULE, THEN IT WAS TEST DROVE & EVRYTHING WAS OK BUT WHEN I DROVE IT ALL THOSE LIGHTS CAME BACK ON & ARE STILL ON, ....REPLACE...

MAKE SURE YOUR CAR BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR IS IN GOOD OPERATION.HAVE THEM TESTED.I HAVE SEEN A CAR WITH ABS AND AMPS LIGHTS ON.THE ALTERNATOR WAS NOT PUTTING OUT ENOUGH VOLTS TO RUN THE ABS BRAKE SYSTEM. IF ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY IS GOOD.I WOULD REPLACE THE ABS RELAY FIRST.ITS GOES BAD CAUSE THE ABS BRAKES NOT TO WORK.IF ABS RELAY IS GOOD.THEN IT HAS TO BE ABS MODULE GOING BAD.IT HAS TO BE REPLACED.

Lincoln ls year 2000 v8 3.9litres

ABS and traction control really are only for panic stops and if your tires slip on wet surface's and yes each tire has a sensor on it. However if the brake light comes on this has nothing to do with the ABS or traction control lights. It's not a parking brake light. This light tells you, you have a serious brake problem.
