Nov 27, 2007 - Can anyone please help me obtain a fuse panel diagram for 98 Jetta(A3)? ... 98 Jetta TDI have no power to fuse 18 says it controls the fuel ...
you can jump the fuel injection relay. This will make the fuel pump run continuously--test only! You can hear the fuel pump run when you try to start the car. You can hook up a multimeter to the fuel pump plug to test for 12V. no volts at plug? then change relay or fuse.
I think that vehicle has 2 fuel pumps. The secondary pump is located under the spare tire this was on a 92 GLi 16V, I'm not sure what engine you have but worth a look.
check the ground from the motor to frame or any other grounds assciated to motor.i had the same problem with my 92 and replaced distributer, fuel filter, among many other things only to find a bad ground,,,,,grounds are very important on older jettas try that and let me know if that was it, [email protected] brantford ontario ,canada
If it's a 2.0L or 1.8l, you'll have to take off the timing belt. I'd suggest looking for a procedure on removing the timing belt and the water pump is under the distributor gear usually. Do NOT loose your marks, or else you can ruin the engine.
You should have fifth gear. There is no fifth gear lock out. Most likely it's not going into fifth gear, due to play in the shifter, or play in the linkages.
