Hi guys, i have 1 problem to my 1kz 3.0 prado 1994 auto. when i drive the engine no problem and when i stop about 10min the engine come hearing like knoking and engine light red appear at RPm turbo meter board. than i stop engine n restart the engine the light gones and the engine smooth again like good. plz help me

Check engine oil level. If level is ok, check oil pressure with manual gauge. Sounds like it's loosing oil pressure. What's the mileage on the vehicle?

    thank you Sir... my milage is 250k, oil level ok, oil presure don know status. i can check to my wshop..

    Most likely the oil pressure is low. When u check pressure, make sure u check it when cold and after it worms up, when worm it will drop even more. What size oil are you using now?

Hi djay,
the idle speed control can be adjusted on the pump by turning the adjusting screw that stops the accelerator lever.

you are suppose to use T-IV ATF in toyotas or they will not shift correctly.

There is a cold start solonoid in the injection pump on the 92&93's. this will cause a hard start, and run poorly till warms up. It does something with the presure in pump which advances it.

no engine told ,not even gas (petrol) or diesel (28 total) OMG lots.!
engine size not told so there is no answer possible.
on Petrol the ECU/PCM modulates injectors.
diesel is many answers for 37 years, may diesel pumps or diesel ECU.

Possible crank angle sensor or coil inside the distributor heating up. Distributor replacement may be required.

How do i disengae from four wheel drive
At best as I know the 2005 Prado is all time 4WD vehicle.
Is the engine running ? Can you shift the gears ?
May be something is broken in the drive train...
As a suggestion you can go home by locking the centre differential, proceeding at low speed and checking for noises .

My LJ78 landcruiser prado 2LTE EFI , automatic transmission, has a very poor acceleration, whether it be in 1st, 2nd gear etc. I suspect something to do with the autonmatic clutch, perhaps the gear pump?...
When was last trans fluid & filter change? Should be done every 30k or 3 years. I'd start there.

My oil service light came on a few days ago than today my car stopped while i was driving it i was able to restart it but now its making a weird sound
HI, you dont say what the sound is like, Have you checked the engine oil, this car as the PD engine fitted and only use good fully synthetic oils.it could have gone into limp mode for lots of reasons, go to a reputable repair centre and get the car checked out, good luck.

Engine Clugs and Sputter while driving up a hill
Check the fuel filter to see if it is plugged.
Remove the fuel filter, and blow air through it in the normal direction of fuel flow. You should be able to blow through it very easily. If it feels restricted, try blowing through it the opposite way, and if there is a lot of dirt coming out, you have found a common cause of this problem. Hope this helps.
