SOURCE: How do I remove Head Light assembly on my 1999 Lexus RX 300

After removing the top and side bolts (which are obvious) Go to the fender liner. Remove all but the top screw . You will find (by flashlight or shop light) two bolts coming out of the headlight rear. With a socket wrench and 10mm socket, remove the two nuts on the headlight and pull out the headlight from the front after insuring the bulbs are removed and identified for reinstall. Take your time. It is not difficult.

SOURCE: How to remove the door panel of a 1999 Lexus RX 300

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

There isn't one for a single door. Replace the door latch. And /or chase wires.

2003 Lexus RX 300. Auto door locks intermittently

Assuming you are not sitting on the key fob when this is happening, I think you must have a short in the wiring in one of the doors. Open the doors and check the wires that run from the body to the doors for any broken wires.

When I push the lock button on the key fob, the drivers door does not lock. What could be the problem?

The door lock actuator may have gone bad. There are several fixes: Take it to a shop, buy a whole new door lock actuator and install it yourself, or go to the Lexus Owners Club Forum and sign up. You can search the forum for several DIY How To's and you can do it yourself. It is not very difficult if you have some intermediate skills and the right tools. I bought some new motors o on Ebay for $5.00 each and fixed my own. http://www.lexusownersclub.com/

Remote will lock and unlock all doors except drivers door.

then you have a defective driver door lock actuator motor, to change this u must remove the door panel, drill out the rivet and remove the old motor and pop rivet the new one in place, this requires a special jumbo size river gun and a rivet head cutting tool.

I am needing a door lock actuator (passenger door) for my 2000 Lexus RX300. Do you know of any parts places besides Lexus where I might find one ?

Try to find your solution here, from Germany Lexus Owners:

QUOTE
I justreplaced my door lock actuator on my 2003 Lexus RX300. A rather comprehensive set of instructions for removal of the door panel can be found at: clublexus.com door+panel+removal

To remove the door handle trim: after removing the screw in the door handle trim, pry (I use a painters 5 in 1 tool) the trim piece outwardsfrom the rear of the door panel at both the top and bottom of the trim piece. This will release the two small rear clips. Then push the trim forward to release the main clip located on the back side the handle trim piece

As the least expensive OEM replacement door lock actuator for Lexus RX300 is $230 or more, I opted for the $15 replacement option as outlined below: us.lexusownersclub.com/forums

Keep in mind that this job outlined above is a bit on the technical side.If you aren't that talented, spend the money and order a OEM Lexus replacement latch actuator and do the installation as the OEM latch assembly is not repairable.

Viel Gluck (good luck in German)

I hope helps with this. Good luck.

I have a 2000 Lexus RX 300. The key can open and lock all 4 doors except the driver door. All connections seem to be OK

So what happens when you put the key in? does it go all the way in? will it turn either direction? Did it used to work, or did you just buy the car? Is the key bent? does it appear someone has tampered with the door? Most likely a locksmith will need to remove the lock and repair it. But when you have a problem try to tell everything you can, even if you think its not relevant.
