Blown fuse, 2002 Suzuki Vitara

I have blown the fuse that controls the radio, car lighter and ac adapter. It appears to be the black fuse, found underneath the hood. How do you take that bad boy out?

  • julia_earle Jul 30, 2009

where would you find this secondary fuse box? As i seem to be blind... There isn't anyother fuse box than the one I found under the hood. Can you be more specific as to where it is...

    thanks

Hi,

Thanks for using FixYa!

If you are suspecting that the radio, car lighter fuse is busted. You need to check the fuse box under the dashboard. Check the fuse box diagram found on the cover of the fuse box under that dash. Check if you see "Lighter, Radio" Find the fuse and use the fuse puller to pull out the fuse.

You can find the fuse puller inside the fuse box. I hope this helps.

Have a nice day.

The other fusebox is not under the hood. its under your dashboard. usually at the lower left hand corner of your dashboard.

Where can i locate the fuse for CD/Radio and lighter for Suzuki Vitara 2004

They are under the steering column theres a whole set of small fuses you will maybe need tweezers or very long narrow pliars and a torch .....Its located to the right near the hinge of the acelerator pedal..its a bit of a contortion to see, there should be a cover which unclips about four inches by five, inside are the fuse numbers and ratings, there should be a couple of spares in the cover

Need to know where the power wire goes from the radio on a 2001 suzuki grand vitara xl7

it goes to the fuse panel which is on interior wall just left of your left knee when you sit in the driver's seat. bottom/front most fuse which it shares with the lighter and i think the power mirrors.

No radio, no cig lighter

the fuse box is under the dash panel on drivers side. Fuse is blown. You may have faulty relay as well. Change fuse first. THere could be a short in the control switches causing fuse to snap.

Electrical issue

Pushing in the knob normally turns on the lamp for a clock reading. It sounds like a spike charge flushed through a capacitor and burned it out

My radio won't play music and lighter is not working either.

Im guessing the clock is not workin on the radio too?

If the fuse blew i just changed one out yesterday and got the cig lighter power, and radio/cd player powered up again!

Get a flashlight, and a pair of tweezers!

Under the divers side dash, towards the fender (left side) you will see alot of wires shooting into adapters!

In the middle of then you will see a black plastic fuse box cover, it is shaped like a rectangle! on the part closest to you on top and botom you will see little button clips, squeze them both and pull of the fuse box cover! From there you should see fuses, red, yellow, clear, blue maybe? there are a few that say 25 on them, should be clear or yellowish, use the flashlight to reflect in it so you can see inside the fuse and see if it is broken!

see link to know what a broken fuse looks like

pull it out with tweezers, if it is blown ( remember what fuse slot it is)
On your fuse box, there are a few extra fuses with a 25 fuse in it, use it and put it in the slot where your took out the blown one!

Your done, put your key in and try your radio out!

Good luck it is a easy fix.
