There is a number on the back of the key fob you would have to see that it is the same number for both for it to work. it is a very small print number. you could call a gm parts department and they could give you details on the part number if you dont have original one so you can see if the one you do have matches

Important: Different keyless entry systems are used on General Motors vehicles. The parts are not interchangeable even though the parts may appear to be similar. Observe the back of the transmitter in order to properly identify the system. On 1998 S/T pickups and utilities, use a transmitter identified with GM/UTA preceding the part number.

With the driver door closed, hold down the power unlock button on the door panel.

Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

Release the power unlock button on the door panel.

The remote control door lock receiver will respond in the following manner in order to indicate that the receiver is in the programming mode:

      6.1.
      Locking the doors

      6.2.
      Unlocking the doors
Important: All extra transmitters must be programmed at this time. When a new transmitter is programmed, it will deactivate the old transmitters.

Hold down the lock and unlock buttons on the transmitter until the remote control door lock receiver will respond in the following manner:

      7.1.
      Locking the doors.

      7.2.
      Unlocking the doors.
Repeat step 7 for each additional transmitter.

Turn the ignition switch to the ON position in order to exit the transmitter programming mode.

In order to reprogram the remote control door lock transmitter with a scan tool, refer to Scan Tool instructions.

Key fob

Walk out to the vehicle with a new battery in the key fob and press the lock AND unlock button at the same time while you stand close to the vehicle for 7 seconds. You will hear the doors go thru a lock and unlock cycle, your fob is now programmed. This will sync existing programmed controllers, security sync. to program new remotes:In the trunk, connected to the wireless remote controller (driver side on wheel well, need to remove 'mat') is an empty connector with 2 wires connected. short the two connector pins. The locks will all cycle. Press and hold lock/unlock buttons on remote until locks cycle on/off. repeat for other remotes. Remove short across connector pins. Test new remote(s).Warning:existing remotes are deprogrammed, only remotes programmed will work from now on.This worked on my 1998 Cavalier. Be sure battries in new remote(s) are good! Answer Locate the data link connector under the dash (under the steering column). Ground out pin #8 of the DLC (top right port) with a jumper wire to any piece of metal close by (I use the e brake hardware). The door locks will then lock & unlock to let you know you are in the programming mode. Simultaneously press & hold the lock & unlock button on one of the keyless entries until the locks cycle (this lets you know the transmitter has been programmed). Repeat this step for your second transmitter. You must reprogram the 2nd transmitter within 60 seconds of programming the 1st one or you have to start over.

How to unlock a 1983 chevy blazer without a key?

Use a Slim-Jim opening tool. Depending on the weather stripping, it may also be possible to use a coat hanger to grab the inner door handle and pull it open.

Use your Autoclub memberships, Insurance company memberships to get help. A locksmith has MASTER keys to fit in the doorlocks. The Locksmith comes out with a box of Masters for GM trucks and inserts them one-byone into the doorlock until he finds the right one.

On my 1996 chevy blazer the hatch won't unlock

It should be number 2 in the fuse box but if you can still hear the motor when you push the button than you need to try and pull the top where the lock that holds the glass hatch pull the plastic far enough to get you hand in on the right side of the latch and you will find a lever that you should be able to push to your left I believe and that will release the glass hatch and than open the tail gate take off the plastic inside cover and unscrew the metal plate off of the inside of the tail gate and you will be looking for a blue plastic piece that supposed to be connected to the release motor and the latch if thats broken than you need to go to the auto wreckers find a blazer or jimmy from '95-'97 maybe all the way up to 2000 I believe and basicly do the same remove the blue clip from that one put it on yours and it should work and if the clip on your is broken dont try to glue it, it wont work I tryed everything to try and fix it on mine but you have to get another one once you find another clip it doesnt really take long but yea anyways I hope that helps you out let me know heres my email [email protected]

How to program the keyless entry for my 1996 Acura TL.

Hi, Stacie,

here's the instructions for a 97 TL - I hope they're the same.

Note:
Entering the programming mode cancels all learned keyless remotes, so
none of the previously programmed remotes will work. You must reprogram
all of the keyless remotes once you are in the programming mode.
You must complete each step within 4 seconds of the previous step to keep
the system from exiting the programming mode. You must program remotes
within 10 seconds of each other

1. Turn ignition switch to ON (II)
2. Within 4 seconds press the LOCK or UNOCK button on one of the remotes.
(An unprogrammed remote can be used for this step.)

3. Within 4 seconds turn ignition switch to LOCK (0) position
4. Within 4 seconds turn the ignition switch to ON (II)
5. Repeat steps 2, 3 and 4 two more times using the same keyless remote
used in step 2

6. Within 4 seconds press the LOCK or UNLOCK button on the same remote.
Make sure the power door locks cycle to confirm you are in programming
mode.

7. Within 10 seconds press the LOCK or UNLOCK button on same remote.

8. Within 10 seconds press the LOCK or UNLOCK button on all other
remotes you want to program. Make sure door locks cycle after you push
each remote button to confirm system has accepted the remote.

9. Turn the igniton switch to LOCK (0) to exit programming mode.
10. Test remote(s)

Hope this helps :)

Reprogram keyless entry

It took me a few attempts to program a new keyless remote for my 2002 Chevy Blazer.
Insert key into ignition but don' turn it yet. While holding down the UNLOCK switch on the door, the trick is to cycle the ignition ON OFF ON OFF as quickly as possible then release the UNLOCK switch. If done correctly the door locks will cycle 1x to acknowledge. Then hold both the unlock and lock buttons down on the remote for about 15 seconds. The locks should cycle again to confirm...Hope this helps.
