1990 dodge spirit's electic fan won't turn on and cause overheating. no power is getting to the fan. ?

posible a dbar electrical conection or very posible you need a new blower motor because the brushes on the motor are worn

There are several that would cause this. Your mechanic has the tester you need to read the codes for the bad ones. He has to plug it into a line that goes to your car computer.

If it overheats while driving more than 25 miles an hour, the thermostat is bad. If it overheats while stuck in traffic only, either the fan motor or the temperature sensor/switch that controls the fan to operate is bad. This temperature sensor/switch is installed on the radiator. It screws into a threaded hole.

Clogged coolant passages in engine block and head.
Possibly clogged radiator. Check radiator fan on-time.
if clogged, use a heavy duty cleaner. Check timing.

When you say no juice to the distibutor , do you mean no power at he coil wire or the small wires going to the pick up in the distributor?

check for trans fluid level or it may be vacume line to trans split or broken seeif some one can get the codes out of the trans computor

need to change the oil and oil filter
try that

you might have gas draining back into the tank causing a hard start.
or if you look at the throttle body there is a tps throttle potion censer if this is not getting a signal this too will cause a hard to start,
Is there a check engine light?
